Do the throttles snap back easilly on these?

Its been 40 years since I have owned one of these and cant remember if the throttles snap back after giving it gas?
Or needs a bit of an assist.
(Had a 1970 MT50 in 70, now a 73 CT70)

Have been through the throttle and carb a few times now, replaced the throttle cable etc.

Will be replacing the needle (as it may be bent & the problem) & throttle parts as the lead piece has seen better days etc.

I have a 74 CT70 and the throttle doesnt snap back right away. I bought a brand new genuine keihin 19mm and with the brand new spring it still needs a bit of assist.
There are some mods posted somewhere on this site to fix that problem, i think

As I need a float, needle & jets I decided to get a new carb while there still availiable.

Honda parts page shows 73 K2 16100-098-731 (replaces 16100-098-730)
And
72 K1 CARBURETOR ASSY.
16100-098-731 (replaces 16100-098-730)

That's the one, right? 16100-098-731
I believe I have a 73 K1.

I think someone said its a K1. (I believe both 72 and some 73's were K1's) But dont really know for sure.
Either way, Honda carb # 16100-098-731 is on its way. :4:
After adding up the cost of the parts, this seemed to me the better way to go.
Am sure Bob will fill us in........:telephone:

CT70K1 1972-73 CT70-2000001~ 3 Speed Auto (Mne is a 200 prefix, so its a K1)
CT70K2 1973 CT70-2100001~ 3 Speed Auto

Anyone know the changes K1 to K2? Looks like Paint color and decals to me....... and maybe tail light lens & seat cover,,,,,, am sure there is more.
Just not sure what?

The best I've seen would self-return, barely, usually only while the engine is running...vibratory assist:19:

With everything in tip-top shape and properly lubed, you'll probably still want to source a stiffer return spring. That can make a big difference. Realistically, expect to learn the finer points of a bike fitted with "factory cruise control".:40:

Helpful hint: The newer OEM outer throttle pipes are nowhere near as smooth as the vintage originals, some have been incorrectly indexed, allowing the the cable slide to jump past the internal helix and leaving the throttle stuck wide-open. Hopefully, the latter condition was a short-term Q/C glitch. The smoothness partially comes from years of wear; in this case, consider it break-in. If rebuilding the handlebar throttle assembly, consider reusing the original outer pipe (twist grip).

Both my CT70K! and Z50J1 don't spring back that well. It can come in handy though if it's not idling well.
