Hi Farmdog, Visually when I look at them side by side, they look different enough that it would be a problem (ie. teeth are longer) I think I posted the images earlier in this thread

Oh and just to mention the 33 tooth gear is specific to that bike (I've already checked) The other similar bikes all have the same 33T gear I think.

Here's a link to a guy who swapped out a transmission with another bike which I think did actually work (I haven't watched all the parts)

Yes it was intact when installed as previously mentioned I believe my mechanic failed to reassemble my transmission correctly thus the broken gear

Ugh! Just heard back from Gary Lewis and he said he can't help :( I'm not sure if he is just unwilling to sell it to me? When he sold me the last one he said he wasn't going to just sell me that gear and said I would need to buy other parts which I did because I needing them anyway.

Hi Gary, yeah it's a shame that it's a part that makes the bike work and is pretty scarce. I have another 70's bike that I have a load of spares for that I got as a joblot. It's already paid for itself. It's always wise to have spares of hard to get parts for sure Take care Sandra
