Another New Honda Mini Moto We Won't Be Getting

Honda just came out with a new bike for the Chinese market. It's called the CC110 and it's kind of a cross between the CT125 and the Super Cub. I like it because it looks more like the old CT90 than either of the new bikes.

Quick Question Lifan vs. Zongshen YX chargin systems

Busted the stator plate on my YX140 Frankenbike when I threw the chain, and received my replacement ebay stator plate today. The stator that came off had one yellow wire which goes to the rect, which means it had a half wave charging system. The picture of the replacement showed two yellow...

Chain Selection, Don't Cheap Out like I Did!

Just got done putting my left over YX140 motor in a basket case C105 I bought cheap. I made every effort to save money on this build and it ended up being kinda a frankenbike. Yes, I used the old chain that came on the bike. The bike was running great and very fast, and yesterday I was hauling...

    A Crazy Idea, Advice Welcomed

I have a Zonsheng 140 powered CL90 with over 2000 miles on engine and still running great. However, I ran across a Honda 250 Custom (precursor to the Rebel) I can buy dirt cheap. I am familiar with these engines and was wondering what it would take to shoehorn this engine into my CL90. This...

Lesson Learned, Your float level is more important than you think

Made a friend out of a neighbor I didn't know that has a '71 CT90. We all went for a ride today and he barely made it home. Turns out he told me he had fuel leaking from his float bowl and bent the float tang to lower the level, and it stopped leaking. During the ride he started losing power...

    YX140 Quit on Me Today

Went for my weekly ride on my 140 powered CT70 today. Flying down a two lane at about 55 when the engine just died, like the key was turned off. Got it home thanks to the wife and the Honda Fit. Motor still has compression, but no spark. Swapped out the coil and plug from my other bike and...

    Speedo Went Wacko!

Went for my usual weekly ride today on my '82 CT70 and my speedo wacked out. Up to about 30 mph it's fine, but as soon as I got faster the needle got very optimistic. At about 35, it was reading about 45 and at I'd guess 45 it went past the odometer and almost back around to the zero stop. When...

    That's Just Greedy

Was at the dealer the other day buying some parts and they had two new Navi's in the showroom. It's a nice looking little scooter based bike with a low price tag of $1800. Drum brakes front and rear, analog display, steel wheels, carburated, etc. Now I can almost understand them asking an...

    Turn Signal question

My 12 volt YX140 powered CT70 has been burning out tailight bulbs. Not very often, maybe one every couple of hundred miles. They're aftermarket lights as well that use small indicator light type bulbs. So I replaced both rear bulbs with LED bulbs. Now when I use the turn signals, both rear...

    Scooters anyone

Are small Honda scooters off limits on this forum. Just picked up a 2013 Metropolitan for the wife and have a few questions. Anyone out there have some experience with these?

    New Spokes, Worth the Price

Hi CT, ST, CL, SL etc owners. My CL90 cleaned up pretty well (though far from OE), but the old spokes were ugly and a detraction. So I took a shot and bought a set of chrome spokes from Thailand on Ebay. Worked out to about a dollar a spoke including shipping and tax ($76), and they arrived in...

Another Range Solution for my CT70

My gas hog CT70 ia good for about 40 miles beforegoing on resere, and after a failed attempt with a 2 stroke motorized bicycle tank, I think I finally found a viable solution. It's a 3 liter "Long Haul" plastic jerry can, with a quick release mount, built in spout, and costs less than $40 on...

    Cheap and Paint Job

Just finished my first repaint of my '82 CT70 since I bought it new 40 years ago. I used a method that I did on 4 bikes and two cars in the past and the total cost for the CT was under $60 including decals. I used a half a quart of oil based Rustoleum from the Home Dept. I thinned it about 20%...

    Grom versus Monkey (price difference)

Both the new Grom and Monkey are awesome bikes, with their new long stroke 125cc engines and 5 speed transmissions. But why does the Monkey list for $4199 and the Grom for only $3399. The dealers here in so cal are greedy, gouging customers with ADM's ranging from $500 to $1200. I've ridden a...

    Another new Honda Mini Moto

This news is about a year old, but I just got wind of it. Honda will be building a DAX 125, officially an ST125. It looks just like a CT70, but with the Monkey / Grom running gear, ie. engine, disc brakes, 12 inch wheels, etc. I don't know how to post a link to it, but maybe someone out there...

New Honda 110 Mini Mini Moto under $2000

Have you checked out Honda's latest entry in the mini Moto Category. It's called the Navi and although it is scooter based, it looks like a mini Grom. It's powered by a carbureted 110 cc engine with a belt driven CVT. It's made in India which kind of explains the low price. Should be in...

    2022 Monkey in Stock Locally

A local dealer has a 2022 Monkey in stock with ABS for an advertised price of $4199. My son has a 2021 and it's ajoy to ride. It's so much smoother, more comfortable, and more solid riding than my CT70, albeit not faster, I certainly wouldn't mind having one. But since the new ones have a more...

    Harley Guy

I still have my Road King, but I prefer the little bikes these days. Anyway, me on my YX140 powered CL90 and my neighbor on his CT110 did our usual weekly lunch cruise this week to Bob's Big Boy. On the way home we pull up to a light and on our left a big fat old guy on a fully loaded late model...

    CT70 Rear Sprocket Question

Does anyone know what is the smallest (least teeth) rear sprocket that will fit on a CT hub without the hub itself interfering? I currently run 31 teeth with no issues and it looks like at least the plastic dust cover will have to go if I choose smaller.
