Rick... I stand corrected... my old switch is pretty bad. it takes about 20 minutes to get the key inserted and another 30 minutes to wiggle it "just right" so it lock mechanism turns. Not really realistic for everyday use. So i'm back to figuring out how the new switch with 6 wires, can be...

Thanks for the response. The ignition switch works fine. however, one of the bolt attachment holes is broken allowing only one bolt to hold it to the bike. If i could come up with another way to secure it, I wouldn't need the new switch.

I plan to replace the existing ignition/key switch. Old switch has 5 leads. New Switch has same 5 leads, but an added 6th lead. Anyone know what the 6th lead is for? See photo of the new switch below. thanks.

Thanks Rick... I think you've given me enough info to get this right. I'll put an ohm meter on the mystery cable and see where it leads.. my guess the headlight area. I appreciate your help on this... wish me luck :)
