Why do I want to put wood blocks between and have the cylinder separated from the case?

I ended up removing the motor from the frame and took the head off. The piston is stuck to the cylinder walls and I’ve soaked it in penetrating oil, marvel mystery oil etc. with no luck. I’ve tried hitting the piston with a piece of wood and a hammer too. Anybody have any tips? I don’t want the...

Locked up when I try counter clockwise too. Looks like the head/cylinder is coming off!

Any idea if the star and stopper are still available from Honda? If I take this thing apart again I’d like to replace these parts and be done with it.

Any idea why it would have been popped out of its groove when I took the cover off? Star plate and drum stopper 10mm were tight. Arm does not appear to be bent.

Everything was tight when I put it back together and the shift drum stopper was sitting nicely in the star plate. A bit of a mystery why it was popped out and i'm hopping it doesn't happen again.

The other thing I noticed is the arm looks different than the others I’ve seen during my research. Doesn’t have a lip on it. Don’t know if this is st90 specific

The bolt was tight but the arm is spring loaded. I was able to pop in back in place and I guess I’ll have to see if it holds. If not, I’ll throw a new arm in.

When the bike warmed up I noticed it would pop out of gear and figured it was the shift drum stopper. took the side cover off and this is what I saw. I can pop it back into place but assume it will pop out again. Also, how do I know it’s in the right spot before reassembly ? Any tips ...

After the test i've determined the Front headlight is no good and there was a 12v bulb in the tail light which i switched out to a 6v and it works well now. Turn signals also had 12v bulbs in them which I switched to 6v but they don't light up. Any obvious things to look for in regards to...
