need to reproduce front VIN tag

This is the old tag next to the new tag. These ae not perfect and a few of you will be able to spot the difference (s) but it is the closest I was able to get. 10.00 each for the tags and 1.00 each for the emboss.

    1972 Ct 70 - Restored!

I friend of mine runs the auto body class at the community college and he had one of his best students paint my frames. 325.00 for each ct 70 which included a little bit of prep work, sandblasting, etc. I think the brand of paint is SEM and the codes are; Silver base - U7000 SW58755 Winefire...

need to reproduce front VIN tag

In reply to racerx - I did go through ITS and had the title from another state in hand, almost got the plates, and then the person said - oh - you have to get it inspected. Here is who you call which is the same person's name I've gotten at evry turn. once inspected, I take the approved form...

need to reproduce front VIN tag

The original one is missing and the DMV inspector is the only one in my county that I know of. If you really think about it, the whole thing is just a blurry line between rules and bureaucracy. A tag is a tag - old or new - right? It only provides another way to display the number on the frame.

need to reproduce front VIN tag

The DMV inspecter was very interested in this tag and was looking all over the bike for it. Then I handed it to her. She asked me to prove it came from the bike she was inspecting - and it did because the numbers on the little tag matched the numbers on the frame. She also said I should have...

I need to reproduce the VIN tag on my 69 K0 - the one that has the serial number in it and that it was mfg'd to USA specs by the steering column. Has anyone had to get a new on made out of vinyl or alum plate? Where to go and hw much? Thanks!

    1972 Ct 70 - Restored!

Thanks for the nice comments. I appreciate it. It was a lot of work and a lot of learning but in the end, its a well constructed, common sense, and fun little bike. I call it my "barn rescue". Its sad to see how many were (still are) neglected, abused, and forgotten about...outside this...

    1972 Ct 70 - Restored!

It was titled in another state and I guess they want to make sure it meets the DMV rules for my state before they transfer the title to my state, my name.

    72 K1 gearing

Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention I have a K&N air filter on it already. I wanted to go with a kehien 18 mm but couldn't find one. I didn't want a 20 mm carb because I didn't want to change the throttle.

    72 K1 gearing

Hi - Now that my K1 is on the road, I notice first gear is such a "granny" gear, i spend a short time in 2nd also, and top speed in 3rd is about 30. I have an 88 cc kit with a stock carb with a 64 main jet and it's a 3 speed automatic. What changes can I make to get more speed out of first...

    Title and registration

Inspector visit and question I finally got my 72 K1 running, inspected, and a title in my name! The inspector came to my house and looked it over, never asked me to start it. The inspector was most interested if it was street legal since some of the CT's were sold for forestry use. I handed...

    1972 Ct 70 - Restored!

Hi - It's been almost a year since I purchased my first Honda mini trail and I happy to say I took it around the block for the first time today! Luckily we haven't had any snow where I live in Iowa and it was ~50 degrees today! I cleared a few hurdles along the way and in the end got a real...

    69 k0 fork bearing issue

69 k0 fork lower race issue [resolved] I finally got the lower race off the front forks by cutting off the front section of the lower race. Even after I cut off the section I still had a hard time removing the rest. I will definately add this to my "things to do before I paint" list!! The...
