    Hitachi vs. Mitsubishi, again...

Darrel, thank you for the offer. I have a Hitachi stator plate now so I am going to replace the Mitsu plate with it and make the bike all Hitachi. Thanks again...

    Stator Plate ID Help

Thank you, that's what I thought. I removed it today and put it in the H model motor that had the Hitachi Flywheel with the Mitsu stator. All good, no rubbing and the coil air gap is much better. Going to order the o-ring and crank seal now and hopefully it will run and start better. Not sure...

    Stator Plate ID Help

Can anyone tell me what this stator plate/assy. is? I posted yesterday about my issues with a Hitachi flywheel and a Mitsu stator on a recent purchase CT70 HK0. I was also given a junk 3 speed engine, and this is a photo of that engine. Is this possibly a Hitachi stator for an H model someone...

    Hitachi vs. Mitsubishi, again...

Hello all, been several years since I have posted, but I lurk here almost every day. I know this has been covered many, many times, but I need some help or advice. I recently picked up a Candy Blue Green HK0 with 800 original miles. It literally was sitting in a barn, uncovered . Bike is quite...

    The almighty paint question!

I did my HK0 using paint I ordered from Marbles Motors. He mixes it to order, and it's not cheap, but I was blown away by the match to the original color. My bike is Candy Blue Green, so I used a silver basecoat. I'm an newbie, so I practiced on some scrap first. Check out his website to see his...

Anyone paint just a section on their frame?

I have a Candy Blue Green HKO and I also had some areas that needed some TLC but I didn't want to paint the entire bike at this time. I ordered a rattle can of paint from Marbles Motors ( see their website) and used some generic silver I had laying around for a basecoat. After experimenting a...

    Candy Riviera Blue Color Match

I have ordered several rattle cans of various Honda colors from Marbles Motors, and I have to say the results were beyond my expectations. I used a silver base coat, and the swingarms and forks I did were almost impossible to tell from the original painted areas. As I recall he charged about 35...

    CT70H Clutch Nut Removal

Got 'er! G Had to buy a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter for the spanner-a quick hit with the air impact driver and off it came-no copper penny required.

    CT70H Clutch Nut Removal

I am having trouble removing the clutch nut on my HK0. I have the special spanner, and have put a copper penny in the drive gears to stop rotation, but it seems no go. All that happens is the penny shreds. I don't want to force the issue, so I thought I'd seek some advice. Dumb question, but is...

    CT70 HK0 Clutch not disengaging

Thanks for the input. Simply a stretched clutch cable, new one on the way along w/new plates, HD springs, etc. to help move my 60 yr. old 200 pound frame along.

    CT70 HK0 Clutch not disengaging

Just got my HK0 out of winter storage today, amazingly started on the first kick after 6 months of storage. Upon riding, the clutch will not disengage, even with the lever held in for quite a while. In years past, the same thing happened, but it would fix itself after a few minutes. Any...

    Stripped threads

I had the stripped thread issue in the engine case on a CT70 HK0 barn find I picked up a couple of years ago. I didn't know what the best course of action was to fix it, so I purchased a Heli-Coil insert kit and decided to try it myself. I watched a few Youtube videos first, and then gave it a...

    Show us your "barn finds"

Barn Find Never posted a photo here before, sorry if it doesn't work. I found this HK0 in a barn in central Wisconsin last year. The man was the original owner. He was infirm and was worried his grandkids would get it and wreck it after he passed. One kick starter, all original, titled and...
