I noticed that no matter how much I adjust the brakes on My 70 KO, I cannot get the brakes to brake quicker than a gradual stop. I dont expect stop on a dime performance, but is this normal for the stock brakes?

I think Ive identified the problem. Looks like the plug wire might have been shorting off the muffler. I moved the wire and it is running. I see what happens next time I try to start it.

Big thanks guys I thoroughly cleaned the aftermarket carb and the bike started. The petcock on the carb broke shortly after, so I thoroughly cleaned the original carb. It needs a little tweaking, but it solved my no start issue. Thanks much kirbby and b52bombadier!

I forgot to add, I removed and cleaned the plug, and the ignition is pointless electronic ignition.
