    Sticky situation with registering CT70

Here in New Mexico you can get what’s called a bonded title, it costs something like $300 and takes I believe 3 years to get a clear title. The advantage is that at least you can use it as your own and at the end of the 3 years you get a clean and clear title

1971 CT70 Changing out points and noticed some oil, what do you think?

Hello all it’s been quite a while since I’ve been on this site, still enjoying my old 70 :). While changing out my points and condenser I noticed a bit of oil and I’m not exactly sure where it’s coming from, my first thought was the oil seal circled but it looks dry( I didn’t clean it). Could it...

Save old original parts from my restoration or toss?

Oh with 8 motorcycles and at least 8 bicycles as well, I save nearly all the old parts for all of them, sometimes it's hard to find room :) but I know they are there if I need them.

My CT70 Won "BEST OLD SCHOOL BIKE"

They are both 71's, while the Yamaha 360 got some attention, the little Honda was the winner, I think it was just what most people started on and people can relate too. Also I think the Yamaha new was just under $1,000 and the CT70 was just over $300, making it more affordable for the average...

My CT70 Won "BEST OLD SCHOOL BIKE"

It's been awhile since I've posted but I just have to share that my CT70 won "best old school bike" at a local car/motorcycle show(mainly cars). Here is a picture of it with a few of my other bikes. It was amazing to me how many people love the little bike, I guess we're not the only ones that...

    Sometimes I wonder

After much discussion and extra photos I drove 6hrs one way to get a bike. This guy must have done some tricky stuff to the photos and just thought i wouldn't look it over good or even ride it, Im not sure, total junk. Maybe he thought I drove so far that I wouldn't want to leave empty handed...

Boneheaded things we've all done to our bikes

My first brand new motorcycle an 85 XT600 I was 19. With less then 100 miles on it, I was cleaning it up in the garage, when done I was backing it out when all of a sudden the bike pulled away from me and went down taking out the right side controls, scratching the tank caused from the garage...

Boneheaded things we've all done to our bikes

Sounds like something I'd do:18: When finishing up my Yamaha RT1 after the first start in over 30 years I took off for a little spin, I forgot to tighten the rear axle nut and threw the chain, not a big deal on a bicycle but the chain ate up the left side cover including the clutch actuator(a...

question on factory stock carburetor for the Sl70

I don't think you'll find a new carb for your bike. Most times I just rebuild the old one with a new gasket set, yours looks to be part# 16010-061-305 and looks to still be available from Honda. One thing you may want to do is search some of the online parts vendors. Just do a Google search...

    my new 1973 Honda Sl70k1

Ya the front is probably original and the rear got replaced with a knobby, very common thing you find on these old enduros. Conradulations on finding what looks to be an original example, my advice to you is only do the things that really need done, as said before they're only original once!
