    Chinese engine mileage log

I have been running YX-140 and doing great with it using the carb that came with the 125 kit I bought, just had to turn in the fuel mixture screw, the 140 actually uses less gas..With the cheap carb and 140 motor I hit 70 mph and I weigh 180 lbs with 18/35 sprocket combo.

    Chinese engine mileage log

Have not posted on here since 2018.Still going strong, seems to have a few hundred more rpm at top max all out,oil stays cleaner longer now,I guess that it is well broke in now.Last time the speedo worked it had over 2,000 miles on the Piranha 140 motor and that was last year.Been running a 5 row...

CT 70 Budget Build- YX140 with stock CDI &Coil70 mph Mark

Yes already done most of your fore mentioned things.I put All Balls bearings in both front and rear hubs. Also in the steering tube.I bought aftermarket rear shocks that should be on a SL 100 or bigger, they were super stiff until I used them for several months on a old gravel road, then they got...

CT 70 Budget Build- YX140 with stock CDI &Coil70 mph Mark

Most of you know about my CT 70 with a YX 140 motor totally stock with the original CDI and original coil and still using the cheap China carb-and hitting 70 mph top speed WOT. I recently changed my gearing to 18/35 that seems to be a really good gear for this engine.I know several people think...

Will a Bridgestone ML 16 tire 4.00-10 fit on a stock CT 70 swingarm

Totally agree.I put a hard first 1,000 miles on it and never serviced it or the screen.Oh the screen was also perfectly clean, not even a partial. But I do use a magnetic drain plug that does catch crap,on it.The ONLY problem I foresee is the kick starter gear spur gear is eating away the inner...

Will a Bridgestone ML 16 tire 4.00-10 fit on a stock CT 70 swingarm

YX 140 is a TOTALLY different built motor than a Honda. My spinner cover has a hole in the center and has NOTHING inside it,super clean. Also all I see is heavy duty looking springs inside my clutch basket.I don't see any rubber parts. Also actually has a 5 disc clutch.

Have some questions about oil starvation and a fix

I'm a year late on this reply to you.Yes you can change the oil pick up,and it is proven to work.I watched the video on YouTube- yup with the copper tube and plug- except I would use something better than a rubber plug to fill the factory oil intake hole lol.Maybe JB weld or something that won't...

    Chinese engine mileage log

Just thought i would add this post.My friend bought a brand new Grom last year.He went crazy with it and bought ALL the high dollar Honda big bore kit and made it 176cc.Well he stuck the piston in it,but he does do a lot of stunts and 12 o'clock wheelies on it,but he also changed the oil tube...

    Re-jetting my Lifan Carburetor

I have been messing with everything and changing my sprockets and different carbs.Im still using the carb that came with my Lifan 125 engine kit.I pulled out the slide and removed the needle valve and set it to the lowest bottom setting. My bike now runs like a raped ape and pulls the wheel going...

    Sprocket Sizes ???????

The tach seems very accurate at idle about 1,200 rpm and much less and it don't seem to want to stay running.

    Sprocket Sizes ???????

Yes I have several things that I can't figure out.Yes my tach is very cheap POS,but it seems to be pretty accurate at idle. But I can't hardly get it to go over 5,200 when in WOT and in 3rd gear.Im hitting 62 mph in 4th at 4,800 rpm according to my tach,if you wanna call it that lol.I use a 35...

    Sprocket Sizes ???????

Got my 18 tooth front sprocket installed on my YX 140. Was looking to lower my rpm at city cruising speed, and it did help quite a bit.I can cruise along at 45 mph and it only shows 3,450 rpm and at 35 mph it shows 2,640 and that is the most often speed limit around my town. The 18 tooth sprocket...

Will a Bridgestone ML 16 tire 4.00-10 fit on a stock CT 70 swingarm

I hear people's catastrophic problems they have with there Chinese built engines.I know there metals don't compare to ours or other countries- China does NOT put enough carbon in there metals and it is very soft.I guess I have been lucky with my Lifan 1 down 3 up which is what people seem to...

    Chinese engine mileage log

Yes I did research alittle before I bought my Chinese stuff and I seen a few Guy's buy the new Grom's and pay almost $4,000 for one and then they bought all the high performance upgrade parts just to go as fast as I can with my Chinese motor.I paid $745.00 for my CT-70 and put a $450.00 YX140 on...

    Chinese engine mileage log

Didn't know where I should post this and I'm sure there are people that will differ with me.The Chinese Lifan and YX - Piranha engines are just as good and dependable as the Honda horizontal engines.I ran my Lifan 125 very hard after 100 mile break in,and went wide open daily with it for up to...

    Sprocket Sizes ???????

I used a 16/ 35 combo on my Lifan 125,anything smaller in the rear and it ran out of power in 4th gear, you should go 54 mph on a CT 70 with the Trailwing tires, with a good carb maybe 59 mph.

Putting the 18 tooth on. YX-140 engine"hopefully" it fits.edited 7/22 it fits the YX-140 with just ALITTLE grinding on the top of the stator/ counter sprocket cover at the top,or you can move the cover slightly up in the rear about 2mm and tighten bolts, this will keep the chain from rubbing on it.
