110cc engine upgrade

Has anyone tried one of these cheap (inexpensive?) 110cc eengines for a CT70? Ebay item # 4571462715

I just got a project out of a salvage yard and look slike the engine is seized or rusted. I was thinking, it may be better to do an engine upgrade then to try and fix the old one (time and $ wise).

I would image some mods would be needed, including new wiring harness (for cdi), but anything else?

I want a pit bike and neighborhood chase bike - not a meueum peice (yet).

Thanks

Never tried one of those engines before - All the replacements I've had have been Lifan and I've had no problems with those - Also incase u didn't already notice the carb is not included in that one on e-bay

I put a 110cc ( Actually 108cc) Zongchen engine assembly on an 04 re-make I have.
It is huge externally.
the rear brake lever rubs the engine case and the tailight switch on the frame interfers with the oil fill cap.
My kit came with wiring, 19mm carb, intake ,cdi box, voltage regulator, clutch cable and lever, It is a 4 speed manual clutch , 1 down 3 up
Other 110cc engines are actually 107cc Lifan engines.A lot of them are also rotary Shift which blows because you can shift into 1st gear at 50 mph.
All of the other 100cc and smaller engines out there are direct bolt ins but you will have to change everything over to 12 volt.

Both my friend's Lifan 110 and my 125 and 70 r not rotary shifts - However if u ever get a 125cc forget about using the stock footpegs - I had to put on the one from a replica which is slightly different - Like Trail-P said stay away from rotary style engines and ask if the style isn't listed because dropping into 1st at 50 MPH is not good at all for the engine - I can't imagine an engine could handle too many of those - Most of the time you may know what geat your in but why take those chances for the few times u forget

Zongshen 110 and 125cc 4 speed Kits I got came with carb, intake manifold, air filter (125 cc),clutch cable and handlebar perch/lever,wiring instructions, harness, cdi box and regulator, Coil ,shifter and kick starter.
.
The shifter on the 125 was nice, the 110 shifter is cheesy.
The carb on the 110 motor is 19mm, the 125 has a 22mm carb and intake.
The pic in the middle is a 110 kit and the other 2 are the 125 engine
Both of these are Zongshen

Note the seller only has a 97% feedback. I'd review the feedback (click on the item number regarding motors) and see what others' experience has been.

I have a 110 electric start, three speed manual, Lifan I got off E-bay. Came complete except the clutch cable. I have not installed (a winter project) but the motor looks quite nice and well made. I have heard nothing but good stuff on the Lifans. Don't know about the others. That one does not look like a lifan, based on the side covers.

Lifan, Zongshen, Loncin, and Jialing I believe, are all ISO 9001 certified, which means that they have to meet the same quality standards, tolerances, etc... that a company like Texas Instruments has to achieve. There are of course a ton of lower quality factories producing copies of copies. That would at least explain some of the variations in design and wide variety of bikes/engines comoing out of PRC.
