12 volt conversion on stock motor.

I have a mostly stock 1970 ct70, the only modification to the motor is a bigger piston and top end. My question is can I do a 12 volt conversion on this motor or is a whole new after market motor?

Why do you want to do a 12v conversion? I don't think it's possible unless you change crank, top end etc. A 12v motor would be way easier

They make a cdi kit for 6v if you want to get rid of the points. Then you can keep the original motor

The bike was crashed and the headlight and speedometer were broken. So I figured might as well upgrade to 12 volt for brighter lights while it was broken.

I just received my CDI kit. It's made in Malaysia. Customs hit me with a $75.50 fee which FedEx paid and billed me for. So the kit is not $150 but >$225.
