Couple thoughts on the C100 carb-

There used to be a seller on ebay in Singapore (I think) that sold specifically the C50 carb (not like the other sellers that try and sell a C70 carb as "C50, C70...") and had instructions on his selling page about the modification that you needed to make to the mounting holes to get the carb to mount up to a C100 (they just need to be filed out a bit). I bought a couple and they worked perfectly. Brand new Keihin carbs for around $50. The originals have their issues... I poked around a bit quickly and couldn't seem to find him again and it was too far back that ebay has removed the sale from my history. Maybe 3ish years ago? Might still be around with some digging, or another C50-specific carb available from a different seller?

I've also found spare bits on CMSNL. Definitely not the cheapest route, esp with shipping, but when you have just that one specific missing/broken piece that you can't find anywhere and have to replace it sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

Marc ;

The Chinese copy carbys are often fine but when not you'll be pulling your hair out trying to figure out why it doesn't run right .

I recently went through this with an old Honda single and a brandy new Chinese carby ~ it looked fine and sometimes ran O.K. but never really "Just-So" as any Honda should with minimal repair .

I frustration Iet my friend who's a trained Honda Mechanic and works at my local Honda dealer so he actually knows and doesn't mind working on 45 year old Hondas, to look at it, he fiddled with it awhile and said "It looks to me like you've done everything, I don't like that Chinese carby " .

GAH .

Honda discontinued that carby years ago and it took me a long time to find one N.O.S., in Pakistan of all places and (gasp) $320 delivered in the Honda red & white box .

My bike isn't worth more than $250 and I'm retired with no SSI, so a fixed budget but I bit the bullet and saved up the $320, the new carby came in, is a thing of beauty, I bolted it on and the bike runs literally "AS-NEW" as it and any other old Honda should .

I have seen the C100 50CC carbys on E-Bay, the C110 uses a completely different carby .

I hope you get this sorted out and share with us what you did and where you bought the new carby .

I also hope you know that before touching the carby the valve gaps and ignition timing must be *PERFECT* as this bike (C100) has fixed timing so it'll never run right unless those two things are dead nuts .
