as seen in the photo here the petcock and carb fuel connection are super close.. like a few inches.. they are almost even on the same level and carb connection not much lower than they connection at petcock.. i was going to put an inline fuel filter in but i am wondering if there is even enough space to do that... can someone elaborate how the fuel line goes??
thanks

thanks for the heads up Red69..
anyways.... does anyone squeeze a filter in these fuel lines or just skip it and run the line?? is it 3/16 fuel hose?

In my experience an add on fuel filter is a band aid, much better to fix the problem which is usually rust in the tank or dirty fuel cans. There is supposed to be a filter on the end of the petcock that protrudes up into the tank.

I'm largely in agreement with Gary. However, where my view differs is with what has changed over the years...pump gas; it's gotten really dirty. My main rider has a sealed tank, the white tank coating shows every little bit of crap in the tank. I see more tank accumulation after 3 fill-ups than I did 5 years ago, after an entire season of riding. So, yes, it really is a bandaid but, the current state of play more than justifies the "belt & suspenders" approach...to mix metaphors in a blender.

As for fitting an inline filter on a Z50, you'll need to add a small loop of fuel line to get everything to fit, without going below carb inlet level.
