1970 CT70 Wheels wont budge...

The wheels wont budge and it feels just like it's in gear but it's not. I live in WA state so yeah it rains a bit a here but I keep my bike covered and under an overhang. It's been sitting since the end of August when the weather began to be unfavorable for riding. I started it up once in November but haven't done it since then until I tried today. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be and how to fix it?

Yikes! I hope I don't have to buy a new transmission. It has never had a problem since I acquired the bike 5 years ago.

Try backing the brakes off, maybe the shoes swelled up in the weather.

Yes, the brakes have probably rusted to the drums.

If not the brakes - I've had the clutch rust closed - rock it back & forth and it may break loose . Check the chain also .

Mike's right I didn't think about the chain. If its stored outside maybe the chain rusted and won't bend and is hanging up the rear wheel....:39:

Thats the first thing that went thru my mind too. I guess If we knew if it were both wheels, or the front or the rear.

I've bought bikes (not a CT) that had corrosion between the brake shoes and the drums that locked the wheels. Other times the brake shoe cam pin was frozen in the brake panel (hub) and wouldn't release.

It's the front wheel that is locked, and I'm a girl not a man. I tried rocking it but nothing loosened up. The chain doesn't have a spec of rust on it.
What does backing off the brakes mean? How can I check to see if the brake rusted to the drum? I just don't see any rust anywhere. However, I'm also thinking it is a rusted drum because the same thing recently happened to my VW beetle and it felt similar.

Where exactly is the brake shoe cam pin and what does it look like? (to help me identify it).

It's on the front left.Just follow the front brake cable to the actuator arm on the hub.Better yet,just follow the brake cable and loosen the nut up on the end of cable.

If you dont plan on a ride I would spray it down(the brakes) with wd40 or pb blaster spray the odometer cable gear area also,leave it sit awhile and see if it frees up. If it does take it apart and clean it real good,if it dosnt I would rap on it with a rubber or plastic mallet. I have know idea what the pin is. If you had it leaning on the right side the cable could have froze with the brakes applied,spray that too. I guess I would start at the brake lever on the bars.

Like Dennis said follow the brake cable to the front wheel hub, there you'll find a spring on the cable and a adjusting nut where the cable hooks on to the brake arm. just turn that counter clockwise and the cable should get loser. It's almost got to be the brakes, thats about the only thing that can lock up the front wheel. Good luck with it and let us know what you find.
