Engine and Transmission
Engine professionally rebuilt by Darrel Gunderson. Engine was completely torn down, center cases split, all gears and bearings inspected, shift forks replaced, new clutch discs and springs. New piston and rings, new piston pin, cylinder bored once over, head rebuilt using all new Honda OEM parts, to include new valves, new rocker arms, new intake and exhaust valves, new valve springs, new cam, new timing chain, gears, and chain rollers, new spark plug, points, and condenser. New Honda gasket set and oil seals, new kick start and shift lever rubber, complete new OEM Honda exhaust system, all new fuel lines, and dip stick. Rebuilt carburetor, polished intake manifold, points cover, cam cover, and tappet covers. New air filter assembly to include outer chrome covers. The bike starts on the first kick and has just 150 miles on it since the rebuild.

Wheels , Tires, and Drive
New original NOS style Bridgestone tires, new tubes, NOS Honda wheel bolts and nuts, new wheel bearings and seals, new brake shoes, polished brake backing plates, new drive chain and sprockets, new rubber sprocket dampeners and dust shield, re-chromed brake pedal and switch return springs.

Front Fork Assembly
New fork reflectors, new fork seals, new fork boots, new upper and lower fork bushings, polished triple clamp and new chrome steering stem nut and washer, new chrome fork bolts and washers.

Steering Assembly
New handlebar grips, new handlebar knobs and nuts, new rubber tipped brake levers, new throttle parts, new gray throttle and brake cables, new OEM horn and button, and new headlight dimmer switch.

Body and Frame
The frame was glass beaded prior to painting and the paint applied by a custom body shop. The paint looks fantastic and has to be seen up close to see how great of a job they did. The paint is much, much nicer than the pictures. The paint is the original Emerald Green color. It was applied as base coat, candy and then clear coat and was matched to be as close as possible to the original Honda color. New decals and new OEM stainless upper frame molding was installed after painting. The bike also has new OEM Honda front and rear chrome fenders, new front cable stay, new chrome spark plug guard, new CHP seat, CHP handlebars, and new CHP taillight housing, comes with tools and tool bag, new tool bag retainer, new ignition coil, new plug cap, new wiring harness, new maintenance free battery, new rubber battery cover, new battery strap, new fuel cap, new chrome grab handle.

I know I am probably forgetting something but have all receipts for parts, labor, and original bike purchase.

I have a clear title, custom license plate on order, California HKOCT70, which should be here any day now.

$5,000 firm

Mike,
Why are you selling? I remember you building this and lending you advice along the way. This is a beautiful restoration but, the asking price is steep in todays market. I hope you get it.
Good Luck!

Our HKO's are nearly identical. I'm very curious what your's sells for. Honestly, I hope it doesn't sell because I know you'll regret it once it's gone.

This is a truly beautiful bike. In my opinion your bikes paint, along with Hornets, matches the original color the best. It seems that most peoples CEG bikes come out looking a little bit on the 'mint green' side. Again amazing bike and good luck with the sale!

I have it on my watch page. Well photographed and described auction. It's truly one of the best restoration I've seen. "Attention to detail" is something trained into U.S. Service Members. Good Luck my friend!

Bill,
Thanks for the words of encouragement!! Your bike was used as my reference, and I am sure that is probably why it turned out as good as it did. And yes, being in the service for 23+ years as a flying crew chief is what made me as anal as I am about things being perfect!!
