1972 CT70HK1 Correct tail light bracket and light?

Hello,

I just received an order of a used tail light bracket and light for my HK1. Can someone verify this is the correct one for a 1972HK1?

The numbers on the used lens are: Stanley RR 243, R159, HM21RC and SAE STLA 72

The number on the bracket: Stanley HM-17RC.

I don't have an original to compare these to or a good close up for comparison. The lens has 3 screws to hold it to the bracket.

Thanks in advance.

Part numbers probably aren't the way to go 36 years after the fact. The main distinguishing feature of a K1 tail light bracket is the license plate backing...it's the same size as the license plate. As for the tail light unit, it's the largest one ever fitted to a CT70 - rectangular and about the size of a bicycle seat. K2 & later tail lights are five-sided, resembling home plate as opposed to a more typical pentagonal shape. Brackets are strictly used parts. Tail light assemblies can still be sourced new.

Tail light Bracket

Thanks guys.

I just bought another HK1 and the guy gave me an extra bracket and light for my other bike. Its funny how parts can seem so hard to find and then you run into someone with more than one in their "stash".
