EXPIRED 1975 XL70 Part Out

I'm parting out this cool XL70. I was considering trying to restore it but it needs too many hard to find parts and I've got a lot of CT projects.

The motor is locked up.

The aluminum and steel parts are in very good shape from all this time in the dry desert.

The parts that are on it are straight and usable.

Let me know if you need something.

PM's responded to. Two things I forgot to mention. I want to sell the motor complete - so no individual parts from it. I think it should stay together and be a nice core for someone. I can ship it FedEx ground through work for about $30 anywhere in the US.

Also, I have an NOS seat. I'll get some pics of that today. I was told the seat was $200 new and that's what I paid for it. I'd just like to get my money back on that and if you guys think that's incorrect let me know. I see some reproduction seats out there for less than $200.

Thanks for the advice CJ! I know the guy I got it from is honest. He said he paid $200 a long time ago. It still has the plastic bag it came in. I just unwrapped it for the pictures. I really like this little XL70. They are super cute bikes. I'd like to have one some day but I want to start with a more complete bike.

PM's responded to as of 4:00 Pacific Time.

On second thought, I would save that seat since you ARE fond of the XL. You may come across a nice survivor that just needs a seat or you could trade it for some badly needed parts like a correct NOS carb for an HK1, for example. There's someone, for sure, that would love to have that seat.....it may end up being you later:104:.lol. IM(obsessive)O, I would put it back in the original bag, get it sealed in another with a light vacuume in it, and store it in a dry/dark/cool place inside a tough sealed metal chest/box.

I'm sure you are right...and it sounds just like me talking to myself! That's how I ended up with 4 HK1's :). However, I just might do that. The seat is easy to store and I am selling a couple HK1's so an XL70 would at least be different. Thanks for the advice - sincerely.

I got the bike disassembled last night. All the parts in really nice shape. This bike had zero corrosion. The following is spoken for:

Rear Fender
Headlight bucket
Speedo Mount

Front Forks

At least one person is going to get back to me with some more items they need. This bike is not going anywhere for about a week. Next Sunday or so I'll probably list what I have not sold here on eBay.

This bike is all sold except for the NOS seat. I've had it listed on eBay for a couple weeks and only had one offer. Before I cut the price super low in eBay I'd rather see someone here have it. If anyone is interested - make me an offer via PM. I won't be offended. I'm not going to be building an XL70 anytime soon - I have my hands full with my CT70 projects.

Thanks, Rusty
