I've got a CT70E 3 speed engine and frame (same machine), if anyone is interested - engine serial number indicates its a 1980. Pretty sure the engine is a runner but have not bench tested it yet (may bench test it shortly). Engine turns over and seems to shift ok. All threads including mounting bolts seem good. Comes with stator cover but its broken off around rear sprocket (still has the screw on Honda badge). Cleaned it up, so its not bad looking (just degreased it and light soda blasting with all the holes plugged). Can send pictures. No kickstarter, shifter or carb manifold.

1980 frame seems nice and straight and clean, but steering stop is bent and serial number tag on headset is gone ...no numbers on it, think that year they stopped stamping the numbers into the frame like the older ones but not 100% sure.

OEM Exhaust pipe and shield off same machine, also not bad ...don't even think it has any rust holes.

VIN is stamped in all frames, other than service replacements. What changed with the later bikes is the location of the VIN stamping, that went from the area just above the flywheel to the steering head tube. I do not recall when the change occurred. The number of 1980-later bikes I've dealt with has been vanishingly small.
