Hi All,

You all have been very helpful over the past couple weeks answering questions. I am almost at the re-assemble stage of my project bike. As I mentioned in previous post, I acquired a 1982 CT 70, in good to fair shape. My goal is to have a clean, unique example of a CT to putz around with this summer. Going for the classic Rat Rod look!

I picked up the bike on 4/30/09.

Disassembled, cleaned, repainted as needed.

Repaired seat pan...

Finished painting.

Work completed thus far.

Clean all parts, repaint as necessary.
Cleaned and freshened carb.
Replaced missing engine head covers.
Replaced flywheel cover.
Replace chain.
Repair seat bottom and replace cover.
Replace front brake arm, lever and cable.
Replace battery.
New tires and tubes.

It feels like I have done more work, but I think much of the labor was cleaning all the little bits and pieces.

What do you think?

Thanks so much for all the help!

It looks like you have made a lot of progress! I agree that the most time consuming part of the resto progress is cleaning/polishing/prepping all the small parts and finding what to replace. Keep the pics coming! What is the color(s) you are going with for frame and wheels? Is it a flat black for all?

The last pic shows the finished painted pieces. I tried Satin finish for the body, but flat looked better.

Flat for the body, swing arm and fenders, red rims, silver hubs, white wall tires!
