I have this motor in my bike. It was sold to me as a "110cc" but after owning it and finding the numbers on it I've found out its actually a 125cc.
But I have a few questions I hope someone can answer. From what I've read this is a little different from the more common lifan 125cc. Ive learned it has a 54x54 bore/stroke which I guess is not the common size. Some places selling this engine refer to it as a "race engine", or "race head" on it. How true is this? Is there something better about it that makes it "race"?
Also, what do I need to look for as far as parts go? I'd like to do a better cam, and possibly some other goodies next season, if available. I just don't want to order parts for it that aren't going to fit. Where are the places or what are the aftermarket parts I need to pay special attention to to make sure they will work?
I also just read this motor comes new with a 428 size front sprocket? I don't seem to have any issues now, but I know my rear sprocket is a CT70 original which should make it a 420 size, correct? I don't know if the original owner switched the front to a 420 size...? Would it be possible I could be running 2 different sized sprockets and not realize it? Like I said, I haven't experienced any issues with fitment on anything, but I'm still pretty new to bikes. Is there some way I can measure to make sure I'm running everything that's the same size?
