Here is a mod I did for my CT70. I liked the shocks on my new Monkey but they were too soft for my weight (200#). I modded the monkeys shocks and was so pleased with the ride that I thought why not put a set on my CT70. I thought incorrectly that they would be bolt on because the CT IS 100#’s lighter. It didn’t matter they were too soft. I bought a cheap pair of shocks from Amazon for the lower adjusters. The Monkey shocks come with the pins for adjusters but the shocks didn’t get them so I upgraded them. Once I tested them I ended up on the 5th setting and they weren’t there yet. The total lift was 3/8”. On the Monkey I was given a much better set and the lift on setting 4 was all I needed and that was 1/2”

I reached out to a member here for some help with fabbing some spacers. I wanted 3/8” so I could go back to the first setting and adjust from there. He did a phenomenal job cutting what I needed. I am now on setting 2 and very happy. I am not bottoming out even when I try. Back to the 1/2” spring adjustment. I purchased a used take off set from eBay at a good price. They come with 3 different spring colors and I was lucky enough to find red. The others are blue and yellow.

here are some pictures of the mod. They make the bike much more comfortable than many aftermarket shocks I have tried. After all they are Honda.

Thank you for posting about this Deoodles. I REALLY like the thought of using genuine Honda shocks. Honda quality, and from a small Honda motorcycle. I can get on board with that.
Finally, we are getting some good rear shock options for our CT70s

Saw that and sent him a question. It wasn’t clear to me if it was one shock or one set. Good luck

Lol. I bought shocks with an S from China and got one. Lucky for me the mailman took them back and marked as refused delivery. I was refunded

Unless its for crash damage, you would assume that people buy them in pairs 99% of the time.

    Lol

Maybe the s has a different meaning over there. I'll be keeping the fingers crossed on this "set".

I was hopin to fool ya into thinking I bought a set of $750 Ohlins. But I only got the box, and a VERY nice $30 set of Monkey 125 takeoffs. I think I'm gonna like them. For $30, I love them! I need to do just a little, movin trimmin and tweakin to get them mounted up properly. But they don't need much. Maybe just the 3/8" spacer for my 165 lbs...and some paint.

3/8 or for me it was 1/2” total. Looking forward to your evaluation. Let us know how you like them
