6 VOLT cdi conversion kit install question

so I bought a 6 volt cdi kit for my ct70 KO engine, easy install right or so I thought. The 2 philip screws that hold the stator in place would not budge, I used an impact driver on them and they are not moving. should I drain the oil use a propain torch and try again. any help appreciated
 
Try using the impact driver again, this time to "tighten" the screw a tiny bit. Then try to undo it the other way with the driver. The tiny bit of movement clockwise usually frees the screw up to then be able to remove it.
