72 K1 Throttle and Carb

hey there,

Just pulled my K1 out of storage after 5 years. Wouldn't turn over so I cleaned the air filter and carb. Carb looked great with only some crap on the filter. Now that is all back together I tried to start it and it will start with the chock wide open but if I do the bike goes to full throttle. If I start it with a half opened choke, it idles a little slower but still rather high. I have the idle screw out two full turns but even when adjusting, it doesn't appear or sound to be making a difference. The air/fuel screw I didn't touch in this cleaning. Ran good before storage and I haven't touched anything than whats mentioned besides putting a new battery in it.

You may have put the slide back in 180deg out and/or the cable is out of position where it goes into the cap.

Yeah the slide was backwards. Fixed it yesterday, just having little tweaks now. Engine doesn't like have the choke open all the way, really revs up when that is that way. Though closing it all the way to where the knob hits metal will kill it. It just likes to be a tad open.
