aftermarket kill switch - CT70 with Lifan 125

I have an aftermarket harness, and a Lifan 125. I purchased an aftermarket kill switch that I believe I have wired correctly because it works, but in reverse - on is off and off is on. It is the push button toggle switch kind. I am wondering if I just purchased the wrong switch or if you can change the internal wiring to have it work correctly? I searched the forum and couldn't find this problem addressed, so I know it is me. :)

If the kill switch has two wires, one wire goes to ground. The other wire typically connects to the black/white wire of the CDI. In the “on” position, the two kill switch wires should NOT have continuity. In the “off” position, the should have continuity. Switching the connection of the wires will make no difference.
Do you have a link for the switch you purchased?

Ok, yes, just a basic switch. The green wire needs to be grounded with the engine. The black/white wire connects to the black/white “kill” wire of the CDI. Engine should run when the thin button at top is pushed in. Pushing the larger square button at the bottom should “kill” engine.

Swapped the wires. Works the same way. Pulled each of the wires off and then put one to ground. Bike doesn’t kill. I am starting to think I might just have to try an original kill switch. On a side note, I am using a trail buddy aftermarket harness as well

Also forgot to mention that the bike will run without the kill switch connected at all. I assume they make the switches in normally open vs normally closed. I believe that I need one that will ground out properly when the “off” is pushed. Not sure if this would be normally open or normally closed? Thanks for any help.
