Anybody with DIY carb needle clip experience

The needle clip stopper. The one preventing the needle from popping inside the slider.

Put new throttle cable, lost this thing. Made one from tin and another
one from plastic to the same result: engine now is flooded with fuel on
high rev, and the plug is black.

I am in a remote location where spare parts are rare and mechanics are wild.
Anybody?

Where are you located and which part do you need...the C-clip that goes onto the needle itself - or - the W-shaped clip that holds the needle in place when the C-clip is on the needle?

Can't think of many points on the globe where paypal and a first class envelope couldn't get you the correct part you need.

No bike shops by you? That's rather odd.Try using the pop top on a coke can,you have to break it off real careful like...Mc Guiver taught me well.

It is the W-shaped spring. I tried to make one from the wire, but my pliers skills are lacking -
it just pushed out of the plane easily. The one from tin was quite good, still didn't help.
Engine was running OK before the throttle cable installation.
I have cleaned the carburetor, of course. Can it be something else?
It will be silly to have a $20 piece of wire in a $300 bike, especially if it not the problem.

I don't want to name the country because after the horrid experience I had with some of
the mechanics here I have PTSD and wasn't so sure I would be able to restrain myself
from badmouthing.

There are some shops, but they usually don't want to sell the small parts without
installation. And I am trying to figure out how much I really hate to
see a 10 inch adjustable wrench anywhere near of what I am trying to take care of.

Coke can top is a great tip. Thanks!

No sweat, welcome to the club!Thought you were talking bought the tiny needle ''C'' clip though.

Thank you.

I never thought it is possible to make a small clip manually. Now I understand
the true beauty of the Coke can top. I am learning a lot, and overall it is been
a very positive experience for me. Not very expensive too, so I hope it sticks
and in a year or two I will have myself a full blown hobby.

Great tip OLDCT. Reminds me of someone I saw modify a hacksaw blade end piece to substitute for the snap pin on a masterlink. It actually worked.

I am not American, so didn't quite catch the joke first time.
But to make this thing from a clip he must have his mastery of pliers even higher than his haircut.
I want to be like him!

In reality I went and bought myself a new carburetor. And when it didn't help much, new CDI
too. (it used to work, but got a resistance only on one pin pair). It got better. Much better, but
still floods on high rev and I don't like the sound of the engine at all. The good thing is everything
costs less than $30 here.

Not mine but would definatly buy it at a garage sale.I see his collectables are going for GOOD money on ebay. And this tool/clip package is nowhere to be found on ebay.Except w/o the package @ my place.lol.
