Thought payments sent and received used to be instant. Seems as of a couple weeks ago everything is getting put on hold for incoming payments and pending for money I send. Anyone know the issue? Easier to ask here than paypal customer service.

I had it happen once several months back. I seem to recall they sent the $$ via a PayPal e-check or something. It took 3-4 days before the funds cleared. Also, I did not ship until the cash appeared either.

Paypal isn't anyone's pal...outside of major shareholders. This isn't the first adversarial change they've implemented. Remember not that long ago when they would no longer allow payments using your account balance? Instead, the funds have to first be transferred to a bank account...adding more days and uncertainty...then paid by transferring those same funds from the bank back to them. "Holey f***king double-dip, Batman!!".

I bought something a week or so back. My payment showed pending...but it was pretty short lived. Maybe for half a day. I didn't think much of it because it WAS so short lived. Figured it was just a glitch.

Well said, and yes I remember that change, didn't care for it and still dont. Am also getting a REMINDER on ebay to upgrade to their new payment thing where it sounds like they will be in charge of the funds so guessing PayPal will be out of the loop, but isn't PayPal owned by ebay? These pending transactions are from early september. PayPal automated help said they should be released on the 10th but it still says pending.

Damn...if PayPal is not allowing you to spend your own money...I'd be ACTIVELY searching for a solution to that bs. That IS bs. I'd call them...for sure. Give em a piece of my damn mind

My solution was basic..."f*ck paypal", haven't used the since. Ebay sold-off paypal, AFAIK, a few years ago. I don't know if feebay requires PP any longer.

What do you pay with online and through ebay?

I haven't used ebay since then, either. AFAIAC, it's their loss. When enough people vote with their money (and feet, by going elsewhere) they'll change the policies. Until then, f*ck `em I refuse to support this bullshit.

Everywhere else, I just use a credit card and have set aside one with a low limit just for online purchases.

I've noticed that you now have an option to pay by CC, Google Pay and read that Apple Pay is coming. I feel sure that e-Bay will get cut of all Payment methods. Just more fees that will get passed on to the buyer and seller. I don't have a clue how the others work because I've just used PayPal thus far.

I'm pretty close to hopping on that bandwagon also, with all the changes to ebay and paypal, buyers buying something just to try it then requesting a return. As far as I know there is no other options to sell used parts other than facebook groups and it seems like things don't do well there, or tire kickers.

Paypal support did reply back and say it takes 3-5 business days for a payment like that to clear. One was a payment to a business for new parts, other was sent as friends/family. One was sent on Oct 4 and other oct 6. Both are pending, they say by middle of next week they should be cleared.

To update this, seems paypal was having a issue of some sort.

Also for anyone selling on ebay, or buying for that matter. If possible use your physical address and not a PO BOX. I sold a item and fedex was the cheapest to ship so I printed label and shipped it. End of the month bill comes and the fedex charge for that item is $17 more than it should be. This was because of a address correction fedex had to do as the buyer only had PO BOX address listed to ship to. Chalk it up to a learning lesson, so next time this happened thought i had it figured out, but not the case. Buyer had both PO BOX and physical address listed. I printed label and crossed the po box out with black marker, shipped package, still got charged $17 for address correction. The PO Box must have still been in the system when scanning the bar code is the only thing I can think of. Correct way to do it is to cancel the sale, have the buyer edit his address, relist and complete the sale. If you edit the ship to address before printing the label you might not be covered by ebay if something goes with the the package delivery.
