Thread resurrection... How much is a good price to pay for a new Honda Nice 110? Is a reconditioned one roughly the same price? I'd like to start saving now.

Here in Thailand I can 110's for $250-$500 and Nice 125's for about $300-$600
Sorry, I have no experience shipping things like that back to the US, so I can't be a source for you guys, just wanted to answer a very old question and give a general idea of how much they cost here vs where ever else you can get them.

hobojoe did you see the link on post #2.

I did see this post. I am aware of Motor City Minis and would definitely consider this to be the best place to purchase a Nice engine, new or rebuilt, when I save up the money. Is the stock Nice Engine a 4 speed manual? I really want this engine to put on my CL70. When converting to a CDI what other things do i need to consider? probably new footpeg and kickstand.. I know a 12 volt electrical upgrade will follow but does that mean i need an new ignition coil and condenser as well? The CL70 has 17 inch wheels and a 13/49 sprocket set-up. Is the transmission in a Nice set up to mesh with this sprocket set-up?

After the new year, I'm going to get serious about installing a Nice motor for my current build. Need to sell some stuff that I'm not using first.

From what I understand the Honda Nice 110cc is stock with a 4 speed manual shift only.
You can ditch the condensor but need to modify the foot-peg assy. The old ign coil should work but I'd upgrade to a newer one. One more thing Highly recommended is an oil cooler! Yep, the 'Nice' upgrade can cost some decent bank.

Asian concepts thailand sells ''brand new'' nice engines. Here is the 110.They sell new bottom ends that you could build a top end on or you could buy a reconditioned nice or a tuned one to 127cc.Theres alot of options and complete packages too.You will have to call for prices.

Are those prices brand new not rebuilt or reconditioned?

Those prices are for the entire registered bike in whatever condition.

As for your mention about going up to 124cc, why stop there? There is a race shop in Bangkok that has hit 240cc on a Nice 110.

I plan on going for 150-170cc. Should be up and running at 110 be NYE

I am also looking at my first "big bike" a 1986? Gb400 Clubman Mk II, so I might not have the $ to bore out the Chaly for awhile.

I'm looking into buying a stock 110cc Nice engine currently also, but was advised by Asian Conecpt last week via email that they are no longer doing 'brand new' engines, only recon ones..
Just under a grand US for a recon stock 110cc, and just over a grand for a recon big bore 127cc Nice.

I'm not going to say anything bad about ACT, but you should know that the term "reconditioned" generally has a very different meaning in Thailand than it has in the western hemisphere.

Just to avoid frustration: reconditioned engines from Thailand very rarely meet western expectations and sometimes "reconditioned" just says "it turns without falling apart".

Heard of horror stories where a motor was ment to be a refurbished/reconditioned motor and all it was. A motor that had been spray painted and sent
I know you can get a 146 nice motor with a 2v takegawa super head for around 3000us delivered

Current price for a 146+r tune is more like 3000EUR...sans shipping or anything else. An unmodified +r head asm. with a decomp cam, alone, is pushing the $1K mark circa 2013.

How aboot, this?
54x62.7=143...
Take a stock Nice, check trans, forks, etc, stick plates in the clutch, sleeve a jug, and boom, you're rolling cheap-ish.
Takegawa 124cc 4V Superhead Version Up Kit - CRF50 V/HA cyl
160cc stroker crank in Daytona 150 2V Engine Parts

Not the highest-end combo, but it'll be a good runner. One could meet the 3K budget, paying to have the thing assembled, as long as the core engine isn't too fragged.

If a Thai individual were interested in stripping the bikes, packing and shipping the engines to a US builder, there would likely be a finders fee.
