I recently took ownership of this Honda Z50 minitrail. I’m trying to figure out the model but something isn’t adding up, the frame number points to a K4 from what I’ve read, but it’s clearly not. It’s looks to me like K1, but with no flickers. Any idea of what model it is?

Looking at Jeremy Polson's book on Z50's, I'd say you have a K2, but the numbers are higher than the highest production numbers produced, according to his book. You don't have enough digits in the numbers to be a K4. He references someone's engine numbers at 403731 and 40480 which both are also higher than the frame production numbers. Do you have a head tag on the bike?

You might try contacting Jeremy Polson at jpolsonz50@gmail.com for more info.

In addition, your fuel tank shows mounting points for a diecast Honda emblem. Later years used graphics for that location.

Are you in the U.S. warren?
Everything about that bike looks like a US model K2 Z50. Except, the US models didn't have speedos, horns, or that type of TL bracket. I'm guessing this bike came from a different country.
I've never seen numbers that high on a US K2 either.

He's 100% right and those look like MOT tags used in the UK. If this is a non-US model, the VINs & SNs will have a totally different sequencing.

I’m based in Johannesburg South Africa, very strange it was MOT in first place considering it doesn’t have flickers either.

"Flickers", meaning directional signals, blinkers, winker, etc.?

Your bike might have had flickers when it was new, but, 45 years later...
Maybe look over the wire harness, see if the wiring is there, then add flickers to your list of repairs.

I’ve done that and don’t see anything, and there aren’t any holes in the forks for the flicker mounts either.

    It's a k2 general export.

You can tell by the higher rear tail light mount and the forks don't have blinker (flicker) mounts.
