Hi working on some ST 90 . Wondering if the brake plate from a CT 70 would work on a ST90 hub ? Brake shoes are the same . Speedo cable is the same length , brake cable needs to be around 48" long . Any body know how long brake cable on a CT 90/110 is ?

Z50, CT70, ST90, CT90/110...along with some other models can use the same brake shoes. The major differences between brake plates, most notably Z50 & CT70 are the external details. For example, the CT70 rear has a partial flange, and an extended mount for the brake stay...whereas the early Z50 versions lack those details. There's more to it than that. The point is that you'd need to either verify PNs, compare them side-by-side, or attempt to install one on your bike to see if they can be swapped, without mods.

If...
The slot is in the right location and of the proper depth to engage the fork pin.
The actuator arm fits, or can be swapped with the original so that the cable will fit properly.
There is no problem with the lip contacting the hub.
The spacing is either the same, or close enough that spacers/washers can be used to keep the wheel centered, if need be.

Then, it should work.

Not necessarily impossible but it's a lot of "ifs". Only way to answer the question accurately...source a CT70 brake plate and attempt installation. BTW, you do know that the CT70 front plate also houses the speedo drive, yes?
