This kind of post is teetering on the brink. First off, it was a polite suggestion. There's a specific folder for these bikes and it exists for a reason...to make it easier for those specifically looking for info on these bikes. My reply would have been the same if someone had posted a restoration question in the "for sale" folder.

If there's anything that smacks of impropriety, it's hawking PRC product as genuine Honda, no matter how subtly or even if unintentionally. This isn't a personal attack in any way. The number of sellers out there claiming "made by Honda of China" , "made from original tooling bought from Honda", "made under license from Honda in PRC" "manufactured for Honda in PRC", "built to Honda specs in China" etc is huge. There's only one reason why these sellers continually try to glom onto the Honda name & reputation. In the wake of this widely practiced misrepresentation, a powder keg situation has been created. If the new bikes were superior to the originals, then the vintage bikes would have zero market value. The reality of the situation is obvious to most people and, as I've pointed out many times now, both OEM and clone machines have their own advantages/disadvantages.

The "22% faster" question still hasn't been answered. 60mph has been quoted. This can be interpreted as meaning a sprocket change will increase top speed to 73mph or that a stocker is capable of 49mph. Considering that 22% is a hard figure, the replies seem evasive. Implicit is that there is some basis for the claim. Why not simply provide the figures? It's to your avail.

"...putting a 120cc monster motor on it, it will own..." Come on, now, let's keep it real. I'm sure it will run well. But, when it comes to motorsports, the only constant is that there will always be someone faster whether its cars, boats, planes or bikes. Once the bike is built, post the results. People will decide for themselves. Boastful remarks just come across badly.

It's also plain to see how easily this kind of one-upmanship can go horribly wrong in a nanosecond. Having already seen what can happen elsewhere, I'd hate to see that take place here. This is one of the few places that hasn't degenerated into a s*** fight. Let's keep things on a mature, friendly, track. If the place turns into another planetminis, I'm outta here

OMG...
I cant believe you just posted this...

Ever since I have been here racerx you think you run this board with a iron fist, and you dont, and never will, you always answer every question with a long drawn out novel like answer, EVERYTIME. Me and you can argue all day long and it wont get us anywhere. And I nver once made these clones out to be Hondas, not once and you know it, I do know the differnece, I am not stupid kid like you think I am.

I will be happy to post some numbers for you anytime when my "original" 70 is done this summer...

So thats it, if you dont like me then too bad I guess...

Your the one who came here talkin shit about me and my bikes, and you still are, and I am not a teenager, I am 24, and I am not a bragger, I was letting you know that I too have original 70s, not just clones, jeez.

Starting to sound like Thumper-Talk in here with some flaming action going on, I thought this was a polite forum. This stuff could be discussed in a PM preferably instead of in public.

Im sorry, but I dont like people telling me to take my "clone" somewhere else, I am working on a 71 right now, it is mint and badass, putting a 120cc monster motor on it, it will own...

Between me and my dad we have at least 10 original trail 70s, we have the clones too cause you can ride them now, and have to do minimal work to them to make them road worthy, I do that while I am working on my original :)

As far as the top speed for the new bike, I am thinking over 60mph on a flat road with no headwind and a light rider.. Like me!

How old are you?

I already posted that information...

I guess I'm at a loss on why you feel the need to name call and finger point. Racer X is one of the best custom CT70 bike builders in the States, and does nothing but help members here in the forums. I've been building CT70's probably as long as your DAD, and the number of bikes has no correlation to maturity level of a member in this forum. I strive to help people as well and don't toss out bombs like "STFU" and other profanity that shows no class.

I belong to other forums where I have to put up with that lack of class on a daily basis and I see no reason to drag that attitude into this forum.

The bottom line is the forum has grown to the point where some mature moderators are needed to move and organize posts, and keep the general peace if there are members who feel the need to use profanity and belittle other members in the forums.

It's your choice on what bikes you want to build and enjoy and there is going to be differing opinions on certain topics, but even with differing opinions, there is no reason to play the roll of "Keyboard tough-guy" among a group of adults.

I really dont care if Racer X is one of the "best bike builders" in the US, does that give him the right to criticize all of my comments and my bikes, NO it doesnt.

Well I have defend myself, cause you guys are the ones coming at me like I am your enemy.

I am not a keyboard toughguy, I am just stating my opinion on stuff on this board, but I am prolly the youngest member here, and what I like and what I think is right may not be the same for you older guys.

I didnt mean to make anyone mad, I like this board, but sometimes you guys come on too hard, especially on this thread, yes I made a mistake, I shoulda put this in the Clone Folder area, I guess thats what started this whole epidemic....

This topic is closed. Any more public bickering will be deleted or should be taken to the PM's, and like Pony Express has brought up, there will be other moderators joining the staff. I like the maturity on this forum, and please, lets keep it that way.
