Build Date of K1?

Hi! I have one of those rare 'no tag' CT70s. I guess it was knocked off. It is VIN CT70 2030133. Engine CT70 E230022.

From poking around the internets I think this must be a K1. Maybe a late 71 or early 72 production?

I see reproduction stickers are available that I can get the VIN and production date stamped to replace my missing head sticker, which would be handy since I want to get it titled.

Does anyone want to share their production dates around my VIN? Or, if anyone has more information about this, what month and year would you use if you wanted to hazard a guess? Thanks!

Well I'm not very close but throwing out my closest number and dates. Vin#2010158 Engine#210399 build date is 9/71

Yes. Thanks for that. There is another post of VIN 2014179 in 9/71. (I thought it was yours at first) Seems they ended the K0 and started the K1 in 8/71, and by end of 9/71 had already made over 14,000 bikes! So this bike of mine at 30,000 is probably from late 71, not 1972. I'd guess maybe late November or December. It looks like production tapered off over time, but I don't know by how much.

My other K1 VIN# is 2017093 built 10/71. As Kirby mentioned the registry suggest roughly 60,000 K1's where made up to 6/72 so maybe made in early 72 but just a guess.

Ok I was bored so I looked thru owner info section and found VIN# 2031653 built 1/72

Wow. Thanks for the extra effort! Definitely production slowed down pretty quick. I didn't know about owner info section. I'll look for that. You've narrowed it down further for sure. This one could be 12/71 or 1/72.

Edit: I had missed the 'owner info' section of the registry thread. That's what I was looking for and expected to find here. I did look at the K0 information, lots of that. And some in the 'VIN matching' thread. Will continue looking...

I think they went to the metal tank around OCT-NOV. My 9/71 HK1 has the plastic tank set up.

This bike has a plastic tank in it. But I have a metal tank in close proximity to the bike. So it's possible I swapped it out? I remember taking the tank out for some reason, fiddling with it. It's been years ago and my memory is not what it once was. Now, where did I put the dang LH side cover? And did it have a chain guard I lost too?

If you're up for some research, you could look around here.
https://lilhonda.com/index.php?forums/honda-ct70-z50-registry.36/.

Now that I see where the owner VIN registry is, I went to the shed to look at my parts pile. 3 bikes in various states of disrepair, plus other parts out there. Hadn't looked at them in years. I collected bikes and parts, probably close to 20 years ago now, when people would give you parts for nothing or next to it. Bought a Lifan 125 years ago, it's still in the box in the garage. Was going to be for me and my now ex wife, the bike in question I bought for her in poor running condition. And then it stopped running. And now here I am waiting on a battery to try again. This time it's for me!

Oh. All I was gonna say was; I'll add the info on these four bikes to the registry.

Okay. I went through that Owners thread. And some others until my eyes are glazed over and brain shutting down. I found three bikes from October, one from November, then two in January. Nothing for December. So I can't be sure. They averaged about 6000 a month production over the 10 month run. I'd assume more in the earlier months, but that's a guess based on generally declining production over time.

2025403 11/71
2030133 mine
2031653 01/72
2034994 01/72

It will clearly be titled as a '72. If I can't find anything more I may call it December, because that's my birthday month. It doesn't really matter anyway...

So, who's got the DECEMBER K1s?

Thanks for your help all..
