I was reading up on how to adjust the Cam Chain Tension . . . I understand the process, and I can find the long angled bolt to loosen, but I can not for the life of me find the cam chain tensioner locknut/bolt that is supposed to be located just in front of the shift lever. Any suggestions??? The VIN is: CT70282849 and the engine number is: CT70E-282402 if that helps.

I adjusted the intake and exhaust valves (cold engine) and wanted to take care of the cam chain adjustment next.

Thank You in advance for any help or suggestions.

    David

Your bike is a K0. Probably made in 1971.
K0 CT70'S have a AUTO cam chain tensioner, so it doesn't have the stud and locknut. It adjusts automatically using spring power and a little help from oil and crankcase pressure.

X2. If its making a rattling noise, its way overdue for a new T-chain.
