That is for the add to the group, this is my first post so if I posted in the wrong area or broke a rule I apologize, I have been working on getting my moms K0 Ct 70 road worthy again l, and 4 years ago my friend and I got the bike all ready to go, started on the first kick and we were off, put it away and the next time we tried to kick it over it wouldn’t start; went back through the basics and noted the spark was gone, we looked into the stator, and noticed something came loose and messed up up the points and such, it got tabled for about 4 years, I got a different stator kit and installed it but when I went forward with reassembly I noticed the timing advance mechanism that sits inside the hitachi magneto was missing, and I can’t find it! Well I’m in a position to dedicate time to the bike again, and I am considering a CDI ignition change, no more points or timing or all that, so
1. Any recommended CDI kits that are plug and play with the 6v system that work well on Ct 70s
2. Do I need the timing advance mechanism at all anymore with a CDI conversion? I know that since the points are not needed anymore in theory I would not, but will the function of the magneto be impaired without it? (Like does it act as a spacer, and if it does can I just put washers in to replicate the gap)
Thanks !
