Hi everyone! I’m hoping to connect with folks who know the history and details of the earliest CT70s.
Mine has frame number CT70-100024. Does anyone here own—or know of—a surviving bike with a lower number or one close to it? I’d love to compare photos and learn what details to look for on these early frames.
I’ve owned this bike for about 25 years, and my kids learned to ride on it. It’s had several engines over the years, so it’s certainly not an untouched original, but I’m curious how much of the early hardware is still there.
I was getting ready to put it back into service for mountain rides alongside my wife’s bike when the low frame number sent me down this rabbit hole.
It’s not a for-sale post—just hoping to learn more about a bike that’s been part of our family for a long time. Photos are attached, and I’m happy to take close-ups of anything that might help.
Any early-production knowledge, nearby serial numbers, old photos, or leads to someone who knows these bikes would be appreciated!
