CT70 - Daytona 125

Dear all,

I have an original Honda CT70 (K0) as I figured out.
As I want to make the bike a little bit faster I decided to buy a Daytona 125cc engine.
Now I’m working on the wiring which is clearly not my specialism. Hopefully you guys can help me out.

The engine comes with a small wiring harness where I connect the engine, rectifier, CDI
and battery. So I have left:

Yellow: needs to connect to ground?
Yellow/green: needs to be split to yellow from the original wiring for lightning and the other one to green or white to load the battery?

Black/ white: ignition switch

Of course I will replace all 6v bulbs to 12v as well for the battery.

Am I on the right way? Or do you guys probably have something like a wiring diagram to show me how to connect?

Kind regards from The Netherlands,

Robert

No, yellow never goes to ground. Did your kit include a four wire rectifier, coil, and the CDI unit? I don't recall what a CT70 ignition switch wiring is like, but you'll need a four wire switch. Off connects two wires, on connects the other two. There are many wiring diagrams available on line. If you can't find one, I'll tell you what goes where.

Yes, kit include a rectifier, coil and CDI unit indeed. But only needs to plugged in to the attached Daytona wiring harness. The only cables I’ve left from the Daytona harness are yellow and yellow/green from the light coil. On the diagram they call it:
Yellow: light
Yellow/green: battery charging
So these 2 needs to be connected to the original 6v OT harness to get the lights working,

Those colors and where they go on your diagram doesn't sound right to me. I wouldn't assume that plug and play is all you need to do. You should trace every wire to make sure it goes to the right place. I don't know if the Daytona is like a Lifan or a Zongshen. The CDI and coil wiring is a no brainer, but the rectifier can be a little tricky. I don't know about your yellow and green wire. Some motors have two yellow wires, some have one, some have a yellow and a pink. These are the raw AC coming off the stator that go to the rectifier. Two yellows or a yellow and a pink are the two AC legs and will make a full wave charging circuit. Just one yellow will make a half wave charging circuit. The 4 wire rectifier gets a ground (yellow), a red (to the battery to keep system charged) and the two or one leg from the stator to be rectified into DC. Some use the battery + to power headlight and other lights. Some have a separate lighting circuit wire just for the headlight. I'm sure you can find a wiring diagram on line to show you what's what. Also remember that key off grounds out your coil, and key on provides battery power to your accessories.
