Ct70 with Nice 110 - considering installing a ct110 motor

I'd polish those fork legs, then clearcoat them. The rust is confined to areas that don't even come close to the oil seals. The springs don't look bad, either. There are heavier springs available but I'd try 15 or 20W fork oil, with various fill levels first. As for US shipping, it's a pig circus...FedEx and especially UPS own a lot of senators and they get what they pay for.

awesome thanks bob

Correct about the legs being ok in seal area.

one other question - were there ever genuine ct70 mirrors made?

I need a right hand side mirror to get mine registered down here in Australia

Can you guys confirm which way the circlip on the forks operates?

does it expand on the fork leg to release or do I contract it to release ?

i bought snap ring pliers that expand but they don’t seem to be the right pliers ?

It's a inner circlip. You have to squeeze it together to remove it from a groove in the lower leg...aluminum part.

In other words, it snaps in, INSIDE of a pipe. Not around the outside of a pipe.

Dual mirrors were not required in the US until 1973. Best setup I've seen is a bar-end mounted mirror; that solves the width/visibility issue and plays well with folding bars. You don't have many options for a RH mirror; the throttle assembly prevents using most bar-end mounts. It comes down to a choice between drilling the lever perches or using clamp-on mirrors.

If youre looking for a right side mirror, your best bet is to get one from a different model. Honda has mirrors still available with 8mm or 10mm threads. Since your in Oz, you have a Dax which should have a hole drilled and tapped for a mirror on the lever perch.

I think I bought a replacement bat from the US as mine were toast so no mounts

What do you think of these bars?

Why yes it was DRCT.

Not good gear ?
drct70...not to be confused with DRATV (a long-established, reliable, seller)... is an areshole. You shouldn't have problems. I expect the locating tabs will be too square, for your bar clamp (they can be trimmed with a grinder/die grinder or file) and the plating might be so-so. Should be usable, might need minor tweaking.

Bob if I’m to change my Nice 110 gear lever and kick starter what shaft size are they? Eg same as the ct70?

Also does anyone know what rear shocks these are ?

THos shocks look like these...https://chpmotorsports.com/product/shock-set-330mm-gas-charged/. These are Japanese and IMO the best value shock you can buy in the states. I am confused though....these should be 330mm not 310mm. I've had these on several bikes and they were always 330mm.

The 330mm were out of stock for a loong time...they may just not be getting any more of them. They DID have 330s...been a couple years gone.
They might still have the bs piggybacks in 330 tho.

Yes it looks like they have silver 330mm piggy back instock.

Are the CHP then the pick of the lower costs shocks?

Noticed in this advertisement Honda say they changed the handlebar shape.
How did Honda manage to change the width?

Did the top mount get wider or just the handlebar shape/bend?

The primary difference is in the bar clamp. The slots into which the locating tabs seat are "reclocked", to rotate the bars slightly outward compared to the K0. Thus, any pair of these bars will have a larger grip width, as installed, in K1-78 bar clamps than they would into K0.
