The paint and body work are done and beyond my expectations. My friend took his time and did an awesome job, especially with the dents and body lines. The House of Kolors candy is amazing. Cant wait for decals tomorrow, after i tap and die all threads.

Have an issue im sure others have ran into. Doing a continuity check on the Mitsubishi stator, i find all three wires are shorted to the case.

Do I switch over to Hitachi, go electronic or try to find a Mitsubishi stator? The last option is what i want but dont think ill find one reasonably priced. Im almost tempted to unwind and investigate the coils, potentially repair and rewind. I dont see anything obvious and think the short is in the top winding which appears to be 2 seperate circuits.

I think it's normal to have continuity everywhere on the stator. Don't do anything drastic until you know for sure that it's necessary.

That doesnt make sense to me but i will absolutely not touch it and try to start it once the bike is together. Thanks for the advice.

Usually measuring across the primary coils I end up getting 1.8 ohms from the wiring to the ground, from what I remember. 0 ohms or a ton of ohms indicates a problem, ime.

And personally, I would stick with the Mitsubishi stator. I'm still running one on my yellow bike, original condenser and all. The points are the only thing I replaced and I cleaned the advancer

I keep editing this... looked at all your previous work and the results after paint look amazing. Would have never thought of a blue mid coat over a metallic green base but from this side of the iPad and probably your telephone it looks like a pretty good replica of the original. I might steal your codes for future builds, should I ever do a blue/green bike. Nice work...

X2 on the Primary coil resistance. And the lighting/charging coils are even lower. My measurements may be a touch lower then enginedoctor's, but well within range.

Long story short, you'll will see slightly different readings based on the meter you're using, and because the DC resistance is very low to begin with. These readings are on low end end of what an average DVM can read with any degree of accuracy. These measurements were taken using a Fluke 77 DVM.

Black – 1.5 Ω
Green – 0.7 Ω
Yellow – 0.5 Ω

It's rare to find a bad coil. If you do end up needing a Mitsu coil, let me know. Pretty sure I have a set.

I think you'll want to have both coils screwed down solidly to the stator plate when you start measuring resistance too.

I'm thinking one or both coils have a ground loop that should go under a screw head too..? To be properly assembled.

Both coils have one end of their windings run to ground so, naturally, you'll get continuity between the output ends and any ground point you choose. Doesn't matter, the primary ignition coil's function is charging the capacitor (a.k.a. condenser) and the lighting coil's AC output is split via dual windings...both sharing the lamination stack and a common ground.

Forgot to mention, your paint & frame look great! It's come a loooong way from from when you first started. Love the color.

Thanks for the help guys. I either have no issue At all or a bad condensor. I say that because i see a strong spark between the points. We will see when its all together.

When you're putting it together, with fresh paint, be sure to consider all of your grounding points. Engine to frame. Coil and ignition switch to frame. And TL ground loop to frame. They all need metal to metal contact.

Does anyone have a K0 4 pin battery harness with fuse? Cant seem to find it online and feel like someone has it laying around.

Wow, I have limited time to check things out so I kind of went from the first page to last and you are doing some really nice work, looking forward to the finish!

I really appreciate all the advide and compliments guys. Got the bike fired up tonight for the first time, now the final push! Glad i didnt unwind the coils like an idiot. Turns out i didnt have the battery harness which has the ignition loop in it. Connected it with a paper clip and got a strong spark.

Wow, incredible work Matt. Recalling the pictures you sent when you first acquired it, I remember thinking you were very optimistic with what you hoped to accomplish. I appears you are just about there, and it looks fantastic. BTW, the ignition loop you are referring to is part of the pigtail that attaches to your harness. It seems you have located that item for your harness above.
