The inverted petcock lever is easily corrected by using the stock Honda lever and lever plate. I used a "Who-Flung-Poo" reproduction carb last winter on a restoration, and the inverted petcock annoyed the piss out of me, so it was an easy fix. As shown in the pic attached. That thing looks like its powered by CHP. That upside down petcock is a dead giveaway. I also can't stand how they slap their logo anywhere they can.
I read CHP'S detailed description of their 88cc Hi-comp kit earlier. I've never seen the kit first hand, but I can only assume they are using a thinner single layer or multi-layer head gasket to get the squish band and compression where they want it...10.7:1. I would have to assume they've done their homework on clearances and piston to valve tolerances at WOT, and have determined that thickness of gasket is safe and performed the best. Changing it out for the stock gasket is going to cut back the compression ratio, and may not perform the way they intended. You'll know better on your first ride, but it would be interesting to hear a comparison test of how it performs with each gasket, thick and thin. It would be a shame to pay for a "Bolt on pre-tuned" kit, and not get the full performance out of it. The bike looks fantastic so far, so it deserves to perform as well as it looks! 👍🏻Ok, update on the progress. The CHP kit comes with a cheap metal gasket to go between the head and cylinder. The gasket is a LOT thinner than the fabric/composite one we all normally see. All of this being said, the acorn nuts got blown out. When trying to do a test run on the donor bike it started leaking oil. The kit also came with the rubber oil rings which we installed also. So needless to say, I ordered the 88cc gasket kit from TBparts.
Definitely look into this buddy! Thanks. The inverted petcock lever is easily corrected by using the stock Honda lever and lever plate.
