That kit will fit an H crank but the side cover will not fit. It looks similar to 80ish edit but since it has timing advance, not real sure what it's for.

Edit: ....similar to an ATC70 but....

Do you think it’s a real silver tag? I don’t know much about them but the tag looks like a sticker instead of riveted on. Maybe that the way the silver tags where made?

Silver tags are ALL just glued. But silver tag or not...it's a pretty complete CT70 for $600...at a time when they're selling for 3x that price...just for a rider. If I was within a couple hours drive, I'd buy it just because. If I were in need of another CT70, I'd buy it knowing I could have it shipped for + 3-$400

That would make a fantastic patina restoration, like I'm building now! Even though it's nearly rust free, price seems a tad steep to me. But very nice piece nonetheless.

Listings on EBay like this aggravate me and maybe it shouldn’t but I truly HATE it when someone takes a complete or damn near complete bike and parts it out. It’s one thing to take a bike that can not be put back together and part it out but when people take bikes that are DEFINITELY good candidates to restore or just get going again and part them out it really rubs me wrong. I get it that “they“ can make more money piece by piece but It still aggravates the hell out of me.

I second that feeling. These are people that are not motorcycle or lilhonda enthusiasts, but rather in it for one thing and one thing only....money!! If this guy has the matching engine, then he has done no justice breaking it up. It disgusts me too. Wonder how many numbers matching 1971 Hemi Cuda convertables he's parted out too! 🤔🤣

I can say that I agree with that. I hate to see them come apart too.
But I've taken a few apart that were pretty questionable. And I've taken a couple apart, Anni g to rebuild them...then time passes...years maybe...parts get robbed...still have the main bones actually.
I definitely have TRIED, over the years to keep bikes together. At least matching frame/engines. Some would say that bikes get sacrificed to save other bikes. But IMO, a LOT of parts end up lost or trashed when that happens. The scarcer that these parts get, the more likely that folks will try to save them, and the more likely that someone will reproduce them, etc.
But it seems to me that complete bikes...or even close to complete, are bringing some high prices. Seems like it's gotta be close to a wash to sell complete, or as parts. And it's far easier to sell complete.

Little story since I have some time to kill.
A while back I snatched up a CT70H engine lower end on eBay. Looked nice enough and was pretty cheap...easy to flip. Then, a couple hours later, I see the seller has listed up the matching frame too...equally nice, but NOT cheap. So NOW, I feel like I'm the one responsible for keeping this frame/engine combo together. So I bought the frame too, for more than I wanted to pay. Seller ended up listing up the entire, nice bike...HK0.
So now I have a nice matching #s combo that I would need to sell for a high price to make any money. I also have it during a time that I think it might be better to just build it...that should keep the combo together..? But I'd be using up my good parts stash to build it...probably $1500-2000 worth of them.
Or...if I just sit on it for a couple years...prices continue to rise...make some money then. Like playing the stock market...but old Honda's are a safer gamble.
I'm starting to ramble, but you get the idea. I'm a "recovering purist". I love, all original bikes. I'm also a parts peddler. I see both sides, and I like them both...but I don't see any advantage either way. It's just not worth it to strip down a good bike as a seller...too much work. And it's not worth it to build a bike, starting with only a frame/engine combo, as a buyer...too much money, and work.

I can see your point, the K2 that I am working on now was just a frame when I got it. I stumbled on it and a K0 frame and swing arm by accident and from the looks of that barn someone had big plans many years ago of fixing several bikes but only got as far as disassembly lol

I'm very interested in seeing where the hammer falls on this lot. Good looking restoration projects there.
