are you okay? lol
whats with everyones obsession and this so suddenly its not even 2010 yet. first off no i dont beleive it. bible says god wont let us know when itll happen... twice.disproves the whole religious nuts. the mayans predicted things to come after the mayan calander why would they do that is it just ended? the whole thing is that the calander rolls over and does another cycle. as for planet x..it doesnt exist if it did you would see it by now in your home telescope if you do let the local white coats know.as for the nostradamus thing look at his REal WORK he was too smart to include exact dates simply becuase it cannot be predicted. as for solar crap it happens theres actually a cycle of that the last time the stuff they say will happen did we had pretty lights in our sky's ect. that was it.and the poles take centuries to change besides it will not cuase earth to lose significant gravity..this crapis just to sell a few movies and books. so of course when they release this "info" all those crazies off of their meds.... you movie for instance... decide they are all right at everything and OMG here we go again y2k lmao, 2003 it was predidcted...by a few things the little nostradamus thing included that there would be massive quakes. does this help. :deadhorse:<what i want to do to the 2012 crazies

The world will actually never end. Only change. We are simply star stuff, made from molecules that were once in something else, and in time, we change back into the dust we were made from. We have no influence on a universal scale, and like the dinosaur, our day will one day come and we will be no longer.

As for being enslaved by a one world government, we already are. We don't know it, because we have been told we are free. Nobody is more hopelessly enslaved, than those who falsely believe they are free.

Have you ever asked yourself why you pay interest on borrowed money the banks don't even have to give you? Or why you pay for land your forefathers fought to own outright? Every institution is inheritly corrupt becuase an institution exits for its own benefit, not for the benefit of the people. Governments exist to oppress people, not help them. If a government helped people, and solved problems, they would not achieve their own personal goals. Bush and Cheney made boat loads of money on one of many BS wars, in a long line of BS wars. Not the first one, nor the last. The price unfortunately will now be paid by US taxpayers and the dead have already lost everything.

The real criminals in this world are not thugs carrying sawed on shotguns wearing bandanas. They are rich, mostly white men who wear $10k suits, drive in bentleys and go to church on Sunday. They are the people we chose to elect, chose to run our education systems, religious systems, corrupt money systems, and we follow them like sheep on the pretense they operate for the good of the people. They do not.

Those who question this human system of power and corruption are quieted, and those who rebel and succeed eventually turn into what they fought in the first place. The human weakness of selfishness, inherit in each and every person.

I share much of what a-smerek posted (thanks for saving our fellow members from yet another one of my potentially long-winded rants). Life comes without guarantees or instructions, it's up the the indvivdual to learn as much as he, or she, can including the ability to think for oneself. History is a retelling of events, usually with lots of lies, partial truths and careful omissions...by one side or the other, both claiming the moral high ground. For example, a Jeffersonian quote conspicously absent from the list: "come here, big daddy wants some brown sugar". Not disputing the veracity of some of his more famously virtuous quotes, but come on, one of the patron saints of American civil liberties was himself a slave owning member of the arsitocracy. In the same vein, blaming the results of the last 40 years of growing coporate control of everything on a newly elected prez 6 months into his first term...give me an effing break.

The Mayans weren't the only ones prediticing the same date for the end of the world as we know it. The Roman catholic church is among a number of organizations in the world among that same group. Who knows what'll happen until Dec 22 2012. Either way I reckon there's not much anyone can do about, so why ruminate on the subject? Make the most of what you have while you still have it and above of all learn to think for yourself. You need an industrial-strength/world-class BS filter to figure out who's telling the truth and those aren't easy to come by.

The Mayans were strange keepers of time. They essentially had multiple calendars, and when these calendars intersected with each other, they figured this was a portent of doom, so they would begin another calendar, and when that one intersected with the others, they created another, and so on. If you believe in this Mayan superstition and are concerned about an End Date (as they were), there's nothing stopping you from creating another calendar, and when that interstects, create another. Why stop there, though, why not really make sure the God of Zero doesn't turn up unexpectedly and sacrifice a few thousand people brutally.

just look at it this way god hasnt ended the world he created yet and it has been corrupted for a looooonnnngg time.heres a good site : 2012 Explained - Why it shouldn’t be feared
"For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycleâ€￾ says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River, Fla."
as for the whole christian thing i think that was mis-referenced it is cited in a bible passage how god will not let people know when he will do it till he does then it wont matter. i don't think that the angels can leak that info..lol
seriously are you going to let people who obsess over when the world is going to end control your thoughts? just believe what you want and enjoy life every day every moment is precious treat everyday as your last dont let worries control how you live if so it will make you miserable and when it doesnt happen you will look back and see how much time was wasted moping around over the next "prophecy". live or be livid:shootout::27::35:

Exactly how could the world just end? God un-create the universe? Unlikely

The theory of God has always been a human created tool to explain what people cannot explain. As we evolve we learn why things happen and unfortunately manipulative people create religions that evolve. The church even evolves. You have to ask yourself why someone would claim the world will end. What is their reason to make this claim? Fear tactics are a great way to make people listen, you can tell people they are in danger, offer a solution, and they jump right on board. You can tell people they will go to hell forever if they don't join a religion, people get scared and join. They don't ask what basis these claims are made upon, what evidence there is of hell, they get scared into joining and do so like a mindless drone.

The universe is governed by constants and rules, like gravity, time, mass, energy, etc... We have never seen any influence on God's behalf to alter or change these rules. If a God exists that cannot change these things (supposedly created by that God), then that God is powerless, meaning absolutely irrelevent.

Fear tactics are what are used to get control of people, ask yourself why someone wants to spread fear, and what they are doing about it. They have reason behind it, for personal gain. Every modern day war is started on invented fear tactics, from the Gulf of Tonkin incident to the weapons of mass destruction Saddam supposedly had.

Don't buy into this fear crap, truth be told you are food for worms, you will spend much more time dead than alive, enjoy each breath you have and live free of these human created paranoias.

Not sure what's worse corporate control or government control. Let me ask my Russian and Chinese pals over a beer tonight. Wife is going out so I am going to sneak off to the gin mill.

What I found being in China is the country is actually economically capitalist and socially communist. Really the government is a corporation by its own right, as generally a government operates with the same values as corporations.

As for a BS filter, you can follow a simple rule to weed out most BS in life. Never believe something a person tells you, with consequences coming from another person not present.

Eg. You will go to hell if you don't do what the church says
(church makes the rules, but claims God will punish you for not following their rules)

Eg. Go to war against Iraq because Saddam has WMD's
(US government telling you to do what they say, because Saddam will do something if you don't what they say)

It works for most BS in this world

etc...
