I am posting this because I have heard that there are fake D.I.D chains being spun off as genuine and just recently purchased this before knowing and am now concerned this could be a counterfeit. I sure hope not only reason I am is because lettering on box appears different than others I have looked up online and just very concerning.. Any help on how to spot or if possible know if this is the case would be very relieving for me as I do not want to install some POS can chain in my bike. Thanks and hope someone can help me clarify this

Thanks kirrbby thought so also just only reason I asked was the lettering seemed different where says "trade mark made in japan" and also the co., ltd when I was comparing pics. The , After co looks different also. Maybe just over exaggeration when I had heard to be carefully of fakes lol

Yes I have seen them packages also but they make them packaged like mine as well just the way the font is and stuff made me wonder after hearing of these fake chains being sold a few years back and to be watchful.

I received this timing chain for my bike and the package is drawn over with pen where it was originally a 90 link chain not in 86 linked as described. The seller purposely Drew over the 90 link symbol on the side with pen and wrote 86 over it upon opening the box the packaging shows 90 Le which means 90 links and one side of the package was resealed because he had took in it out and shorten the chain to make it 86 link. The chain to top it off if definitely a fake counterfeit as the quality is no comparison to a real D.I.D chain. There is damage on one of the links where you can see clearly that he had taken it apart to shorten it and put it back together. Originally when I first bought the chain I messaged him and asked him if it was genuine. He would not respond to me until I got a message stating " thank you for your purchase order has been shipped" nothing more. This guy is definitely selling counterfeit Goods in claiming to be genuine. Honestly would not bother me so much if it didn't happen to be such an important part due to the fact if that chain was to snap it would destroy my engine. Like I said before personally writing with pen over the original product to make somebody believe they are receiving what they requested and going out of their way to modifying such an important part it's bad business. Just crazy definitely FAKE. My old used chain was better than the SO CALLED NEW CHAIN. B.S

As these Picture Show you can see how he wrote over the link number on the box. You can also see how the packaging says 90 link but when I opened it it it's only 86 links. You can see where he had opened the end of the package to modify the chain and resealed it.. Crazy how authentic the box looks but when you look at chain itself can definitely tell its a knockoff just by the way the center rolls are made and the play between links is crazy loose. If I hold chain and check side to side it bends almost to complete u shape.
