Fluid Removal for Storage

I'm planning to store my CT70 K0 for an extended time, possibly a year. I know that I need to drain the gas and oil, but do I also need to "flush" the engine somehow so that all traces of oil are removed? (I realize that draining the oil doesn't actually remove all of it).

Yes, no need to drain the oil, but you need to empty the carb and fuel tank, disconnect the battery, and squirt a little oil down the spark plug hole and kick it through a couple of times, then reinstall the plug. I'd also clean and wax all chrome, but don't buff it off.

A oil change before long storage is what I was told before. No long storage with dirty oil. And...what Old Guy said ^
One year storage isn't long storage IMO...but it could easily end up being 2 3 4 years.

Thanks for the responses. Not sure if it matters, but I'm planning to display the bike in my office ... "store" probably implied that it would be in a garage. Just to confirm, it doesn't hurt anything to have clean oil in it for an extended time if it will be inside and not started? Appreciate it!

Oh ya. Long term...clean oil will stay clean, and good.
