Fork options for 71KO?

Finally they arrived today! Not near my bike so it will be a bit before I can install them or test them. I will compare them in the thread I started using a press and a scale to see static rates. With further a due pics.

Some things to note: looks like only 1 1/8 travel, they would extend farther if the springs were longer as I can pull them further by hand. Looks like I will need a washer or a shim on the one side as when I compare the Daytona it has a welded spacer as does the stock leg. Note the springs are red but were repainted gold.

@Snufftherooster how is the riding on those Daytona's? Was also wondering if you could measure the travel on them?

I see Webike has a different supplier BPYamato. They list 2 types but can't tell the difference and of course they are more expensive.
*****never mind I read the description, one is a -40mm Low rider!

I did some testing today with one of my spare forks. Compared the stock with the hydraulic set up. One heck of a difference the only thing I don't like is the lack of travel ~1 1/8".

I suppose your right except when you compare them to the original spring style on the shop floor. The original spring style is a joke in comparison, it feels like something on a kids toy. I can't find much info on front suspension travel on all the CT's I see that 1979 list 1.97" or 50mm. Which is not much more then these.

Maybe this is a mistake as it list 1980 having 3.64"?

Here is the K1 manual, I always thought trail length refered to the suspension travel. Not sure why they don't break down front and rear?

I’m curious relative to that 1 1/8” assessment. Looking at the measured data I see some non-linearity going on at the end of the stroke. That outer spring isn’t progressive. How are you determining that there isn’t any more travel?

So finally have these installed. There way to stiff from what I tried. I like the look standing still as this makes it sit taller. I think I will revisit this and put one stock one in the left side and try again. I also wonder if this front end is not true as it has a wheel favoring the one side. Spent some time straightening the hl ears.
