Go dallas!

I have not been a Dallas fan since they fired Tom Landry in the manner they did. But I will pull for their new quarterback because he's a good local kid from around here.

Thanks Rick!

Yep, Romo has been delicate these past years and Prescott has been really filing in nicely. They won today thanks to him, ran in for six.:10:

I like his first name too; it's DAK !:21:

Hey, Adam-NLV, I'm now a diehard AZ Cardinals fan, LOL... wearing my Cards slippers right now as I watch the Monday Night Football game with the Jets. Can't remember whether OLD CT is a Jets or Giants fan... my money's on the Cards, LOL. I'll wager the usual amount on the game (one Interwebs dollar, never to be paid out), AYE??? Just booked a cabin for a month in the tall pines while Sage & I continue our home search, and I have WiFi and a flatscreen TV, so I'm enjoying the game as I settle into these new digs. Hope to have a new home within a month, this whole home-buying gig is EXTRA SPECIAL in the White Mountains of Arizona, don'tcha know??? When these @$$clowns say Tuesday, it means goddam Thursday at the EARLIEST, if not a week later, LOL. Damn. Call it "White Mountain Time" and be done with it, no need to stress once ya get the schedule down, 10??? :red70:

P.S. Hey, a word of advice: if you DIE in the White Mountains, be sure to do it in the dead of winter, that way your CORPSE won't stink up the joint before these tards show up to haul it away, LOL. Damn. :43:

Good time to be in the S. West right now weathers great, im still a Cowboy fan since I was born in TX.

My money is on Prescott, Romo will be their second string QB...bet on it

The weather is indeed perfect, chilly nights (good for sleeping) with gorgeous sunny days in between, the sky here is so beautiful... Sage & I are both diggin' the smog-free atmosphere. The sunsets are insane too, with unbelievable colors!!! I feel as if I'm in the right place, as if I've come home, 10-4? I stopped by Show Low Lake yesterday for the first time, as I've been busy with the home search, and the lake is very nice, not HUGE but big enough for my little Obamanomic Megayacht, LOL. There's breeze in these mountains too, sometimes the wind howls and the flags all stand out, other times the wind whispers through the tall pines... a very soothing & relaxing sound.

Anyway, I thought I found a place yesterday, and I even threw down the $1K check in earnest money, but now the agent and owner are both squawkin' about raising the price... they may get fired here pronto, LOL. Too bad, because the house would've made a great bachelor pad, it even had the perfect room for the pool table I intend to buy, a room with large picture windows looking out through the tall pines. That property had about a dozen tall Ponderosa pines on it, very nice trees, and yet the corner lot had open areas where the sun shone down... the trees are spaced just right, and the property is actually the sunniest on that intersection (not a city intersection, just skinny little blacktop roads in the subdivision, no signage of any kind, LOL).

No worries, I'm going to look at another choice home in the tall pines today, and if I like it I'll bow out of the other deal and sign a new contract. I mean, WTF, the first guy agreed to my offer over the phone, but then he got greedy and told the agent to boost the price. It was only $1500, but it's the principle that matters to me: when I give my word, I keep it, and that's it, end of story. But here in the White Mountains, where there's a bit of a boom, everyone's out to rook the out-of-state buyers. Meh, I'll find my place yet, and in the meantime Sage & I will kick it at this resort in Pinetop. Very nice place, Pinetop, but out of my price range as far as real estate goes. Country clubs and resorts galore here, with higher property values for nearby homes, you understand.

This resort where Sage & I are chillin' like villains, it's costing me over $1700 for the month I plan to stay here, but it's the right call as I continue my search for a new home, better than being locked into a 6-to-12-month rental, only to have the home I want to buy appear on the market. This resort is tucked away in the tall pines too, and it's the off-season, so Sage & I have the far side all to our lonesome selves, LOL. Our unit is like a large 1BR apartment, with a big living room and dining area, full kitchen, and a hallway to a big bedroom with a nice full bath. I've been enjoying that tub too, it feels great. Flatscreen TV in the living room for viewing movies & gridiron action, LOL. Excellent fall BBQ action on the central green, there's a lawn there with BBQs and tables and whatnot. Heaps of beer & gourmet grinds to round out the experience, 10???

WTF, ya only live once, and I've NEVER paid $1700 for a month's rent before, LOL. Funny thing is, I feel like it's worth every penny, the solitude amid the tall pines and the tranquillity alone are worth the price. Sage is doing better here too, he was terrified out in cedar country, where predators could easily approach undetected, but here he can see some distance into the forest, since the tall pines are spaced apart, aye? There are still predators, but mainly at night, which is why I don't let him out after dark. Sage is diggin' the bird life here, he had a hilarious encounter with a large songbird yesterday... the bird perched on a branch 20' overhead and started nagging at Sage who stood below, the cat's tail swishing back and forth as he growled at the bird.

Well, I had better get crackin' on breakfast, then get cleaned up and go check this other property. I have till this afternoon to answer the first guy's extortion demand, so if the new place looks good, that d!ckhead extortionist will get drop-kicked like I'm STARRIN' in the NFL, LOL. I'm not really big on people who say one thing, then change their tune, yeah? Moi, I say what I mean from the outset, and if I turn out to be wrong, I'll admit it and move forward. I get the whole greed scene, especially in this economy, but that doesn't mean I have to like it, and I'm just the ornery kinda bastard who'll withdraw his earnest money to make a point, LOL. We'll see what happens, there's time yet, and I'll even give the agent a call to let him know I'm looking at another place... give those two clowns something to chew on as I check my options, LOL.

More on the home search later, y'all be good, I'm outta here, color me gone, WAHOOOO!!! :red70:

Good college football on today, I've been watching games all day and having a few cold ones... I'll tell ya, this Fournette back on the LSU Tigers team is one heckuva runner, he doesn't have the lean build of wide receivers, but when he breaks free and starts running in the open field, the dude is like a bullet train, LOL. I'm looking forward to pro ball mañana, I was stuck in the boondocks with no TV for nearly a month, so this is the first weekend I've had to watch football since I left the beach. I'm enjoying the break from the home search too, which has been a real grind. I actually met the raised counteroffer on that place I like, mainly because the home has so much potential as a cool bachelor pad... WTF, so I buy the seller a used dirt bike, LOL. The home price is still only $53K, and I'll dump another $10K into new carpet and a metal Pro Panel roof. Paint the interior and exterior myself, though the exterior can wait till next year. Overall, the home is in pretty good shape, and it'll be stylin' once I get it fixed up the way I want it, complete with pool table in that room which looks out to the tall pines. Decent neighborhood, taxes only $400 per year, and there's even a mini "garage" at the inside end of the carport which will work perfectly to keep my FrankenBike out of the elements, and to store parts, tools, etc. It's just a wooden walk-in shed built into the end of the carport, but there's enough room inside and enough insulation to keep my bike warm and dry, LOL. Damn, this Ole Miss-LSU game is excellent, 21-all going into the half. Guess I'll get back to it, I need a fresh brew anyway... :red70:

Hey, Adam-NLV, are the Cowboys playing today? If so, I'm not getting that game here in Pinetop, LOL. Sports page of the local rag isn't exactly comprehensive, it deals more with local prep football and girls' soccer, 10? No worries, I'm watching the Vikings-Eagles game, and occasionally checking the Raiders-Jaguars game... Holy Cow, did y'all see that classic kick return somersault TD by Huff, #13 of the Eagles?!? Now THAT is REAL FOOTBALL, hurt my back just watching it, LOL. Just kidding, but to be honest with ya, those are the only kind of end zone theatrics I really like, the active kind... the "Funky Chicken" and other moves are entertaining enough, but the diving or somersaulting TDs are the best, 10-4? No need for any other b.s. theatrics once the dives & somersaults are completed, LOL.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the Pats-Steelers game this afternoon, and I'll be wearing my lucky Cards slippers for tonight's game between AZ and the Seahawks. Somewhere in between, a double Angus cheeseburger with bacon & guacamole, ain't no mystery why I've gained a pound or two since I've arrived in Pinetop, LOL. Heller beer consumption might also be a factor, YA THANK?!? No worries, I'll lose the poundage when I spray the bowl mañana, LOL. I don't give a flyin' f#%, I'm having a good time with Sage, that blasted varmint... little gray tiger killed a rat yesterday, maybe I should bill the resort management for his services, aye??? LOL. Thank goodness Sage is settling in here, it has been a real journey for the two of us to get this far... one more move into our "forever home" in Show Low, and we're DONE with this relocation.

Alright, I'm off to enjoy more gridiron action, and even though I'm not a really big baseball fan, I noted that Game 1 of the World Series airs on Tuesday, Cubs vs. Indians, should be fun to watch after the dust has settled from Monday Night Football. Damn, this is a good time of year for sports fans, no doubt about it. I can't handle blacksketball, and much as I like hockey, I can't skate for sh!t, LOL... ice skate, I mean, with four wheels it's a different story. Hey, Show Low has a skatepark!!! Nothing serious, no vertical in the true sense, but it might be fun to skate on a board I buy from the local shop. A fat poolriding board, might hafta order that bad boy, LOL. Wait, I have it, I'll order Wes Humpston's "Long Pig" (or "Super Pig") from Bulldog Skates, that'll make a SE-WIOUS STATEMENT here at the Show Low Skatepark, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Check it out:

www.bulldogskates.com/boards_44lb.htm

P.S. Might hafta slap some rails under the deck to protect the artwork, LOL. Ya like that art, check the other boards by Wes Humpston and Bulldog Skates, the dude is one of the best board designers and artists in the industry, an original DogTown skater with a real flair for building bad@$$ poolriding sticks. If the link above fails to come through, just Google "www.bulldogskates.com" and visit the store to see some PRIMO SKATE DECKS like no others, complete with radical artwork from an original DogTown hand. Sure, today's vertical skaters pull unreal tricks and whatnot, but the original skaters still rule, because they were the first to ride serious pools & parks... I should know, because I was one of 'em, and I'm still here above ground, contemplating the purchase of a Wes Humpston board with unreal artwork, LOL.

Hey, if I fracture my skull and DIE in the Show Low Skatepark, I'll DIE HAPPY, especially on a righteous "Long Pig" with wide trucks and bad@$$ old school wheels, none of that flip-tip, pinner-wheel bullsh!t for this ol' ROGUE DINOSAUR, AYE??? When I go out, I'll go out in style, wearing nothing but Vans, board shorts, Rector Palm Pad Gloves and (of course) NO GODDAM HELMET, LOL. I could use my monkeybiking helmet, but it would look ridiculous... I'd rather die in STYLE with no headgear whatsoever, same way my friends & I rode backyard pools back in the '70s. Yeah, we ate sh!t on occasion and paid the price too, but I wouldn't have it any other way... like a true Viking, I'll go to Skateboard Valhalla when my head slams the gunite or shotcrete for the last time, LOL, WOOHOO!!! :red70:

Google "Wes Humpston Dogtown Skates" and click on "More Images" to see some kick@$$ skate deck artwork... some of his work isn't really my style, but a lot of it resonates BIG-TIME. The dude has actually had sponsored art exhibitions with only his boards on display. To be honest with ya, his artwork chronicles the whole hardcore skate scene back in the day, when skateboarding was still a "crime" and true riders went the distance just to get some cheap thrills on vertical, LOL. I'm so glad I was part of that whole scene, riding ramps, parks and pools back in the day... paying the price at times, but living life on the cutting edge & pushing the envelope in vertical terrain, LONG BEFORE these modern skate heroes appeared on the X Games or the Dew Tour. Hell, just riding the VertiBowl in Coronado was worth ALL the grief and road rash, park rash, pool rash, etc., because we did what NOBODY had ever done before: carving tile & grinding coping in an 8' pool with over 4' of vertical, the thing was a beast but it paid in spades when ya chose the right line, LOL. Spectacular wipeouts too, many of them painful in the extreme, with bloodstains on the gunite or shotcrete... hard venue, the VertiBowl, with coping that jutted up and out at least 3", forcing those who tackled it to commit everything.

YEAH, THOSE WERE THE DAYS, AND NOBODY CAN EVER TAKE 'EM AWAY FROM THE HANDS WHO LIVED 'EM... LONG AFTER I DIE, THAT PRIMO FULL-PIPE OVERHANG SHOT OF MINE WILL LIVE ON THE INTERNET, LOL. WAHOO!!! :red70:

C'mon, Cardinals!!! LOL... should be a good test of ability against the Seahawks and their d!ckhead coach. Been revisiting the past, looking at all those pics in the photo galleries of Bulldog Skates... man, there are some cool shots there, real old school poolriding shots. Parks too... some of those old parks would've been great for monkeybikes, even if one just cruised and drew long soulful lines round the bowls and whatnot. Full protective gear for that number, given the weight of the bike, LOL. Alright, no more thread-jacking, I'm back to the Cards game, scoreless in the first quarter...

"GO, CARDINALS!!! WOOHOO!!!" :red70:

P.S. Those 12"-wide BigFoot boards designed by Wes Humpston are the bomb, like a magic carpet once a rider gets used to the width, LOL. :13:
