Hello everyone, is it common for the handlebar clamp on a K1 or any version of a CT70 to be bent? I know you see a lot of bent handlebars but I figured it would be pretty hard to bend the aluminum clamp as well. I could be calling this by the wrong name too. After assembling my bike with new CHP handlebars I noticed that my wheel and headlight are in a line but my handlebars seem to be a little off. It seems like the handlebar clamp may be bent a little bit. But it came out and went back in the top plate with no problems. Has anyone seen this before? Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

I've had a few bikes that way, usually for me it was not getting the locating pins on top of fork spring in the notch properly before snugging down the fork bolts causing it to be out of alignment. Also have had one fork leg bent making the tire look out of alignment. Just something to check??

Backtracking here, I'm thinking of a K0. I would loosen top bolts up, hold tire with your knees and twist a little like we used to do with our bicycles then tighten top bolts.

Right on, mine is a K1 but I guess I didn’t think about the top plate being twisted a little bit. I’m gonna check that tomorrow and see what I come up with.

So here is a pic of my clamp, the knobs aren’t square like my Z50A is but maybe they aren’t supposed to be. The K1 that I have is the only CT70 iv ever seen in person so I don’t have anything to go off of. Does my handle bar clamp look right? The blue bike is my 50 and the gold is my 70. Those are actually 2 different parts. The Z50 version IS straight(er) and the CT70 version angles out a bit on both sides.
These pics are both CT70 K1s.

So maybe mine is good? I haven’t had a chance to check the top plate for misalignment yet. Hopefully there is a little slack in it because it’s driving me CRAZY being off a little.
