I agree. Somewhere I have a sketch showing the difference between a Z50 (softail), K0 and K1 and up. There are a lot of variables on handle bars and the top plate/mount plays a part.

Not sure about the CHP bar dimensions or the stance, but from what I've read, they are the best of the lot when it comes to aftermarket bars.

I've only had one set of aftermarket bars (non CHP) and they were for a soft tail. The chrome was ok, but that's it. Nothing fit, and the tubing was just a notch above a shower curtain rod. On the plus side, they were easy to straighten.

Short answer......a lot. I can't speak with first hand knowledge of either set, but the set I referenced above came from the same seller. Drct70-411 doesn't have the best reputation when comes to customer service or quality of products. I would spend the few extra bucks and go with CHP bars.

Just for the record, the set I bought from drCT70411 was terrible. I spent a few hours grinding, filing, drilling, etc just to "make them fit". I even had to hone out the holes for cable grommets to get cable grommets installed.

By the way, DRATV and DRCT70411 are not the same. DRATV is a great seller in my book.

    Thank you Allen,
I really thought that seller was DrATV. Thanks for clearing that up!

Read drct70411's feedback responses! Dr Kevorkian has a better reputation! o_O 4 NEGATIVES and 9 neutral in the last 12 months alone!

Played around with bars this afternoon. Just to summarize some key points in the previous posts, and maybe restate the obvious:

OEM Honda K0 bars are the narrowest of the lot. Part of this is from the bend on the bar itself and part from the clocking of the K0 mount. Just for kicks, I installed them in a K1-78 mount and the stance is about an 1" wider

OEM Honda DAX Bars have a stance ~ 1" wider than K0.

OEM Honda K4-78 bars are the widest of the lot..... to the tune of about ~4" (as compared to K0)

Excuse some pic angles which aren't the best, but you this should give you an idea of the stance of NOS K4-78 bars. Again, part of the wide stance is from the bars, part from the mount.

    Thanks for this Allen!

I'm patiently waiting on CHP to come out with K1 and later bars. Lyle was asking earlier this year on FB for guys to measure bars. I would put those on my K0's and be very happy. I have a set on one of my K0 that is wider and assume it has to be the later bars or a aftermarket company from long ago as they are almost as wide as my K1.

I forgot to include the measurement end to end (i.e.: width) of the K4-78 bars in the K1-78 mount. It is ~26" vs. ~23" for the DAX bars (same mount).

I don't have set of K1, K2, or K3 bars so I can't say how they compare. Thus far I have only measured OEM Honda bars from a bag with a tag.

Another tibdit, the OEM K4-78 bars don't sweep back toward the OP as much as K0 or DAX bars. There is ~2" difference. In other words, you have to reach a little further forward to grab the bar.

I thought the K1 through 78 were the same? Except for the differences in internal/external throttle and brake perches.

Are the triple tree tops interchangeable?

Any pair of folding bars will fit any K0-`78 bar clamp. The K0 is the odd-duck bar clamp...it also doubles as the top tree, is not interchangeable with anything...and...K0 tab "clocking" is at 12:00/6:00 positions, K1-`78 are 1:00/7:00. The result, narrower grip width, as-installed, with K0.

I think this crude pic tells the story on the difference between a K0 vs. K1 mount. As you can see, the K1 mount starts out wider, ends up wider, and with a slightly wider trajectory as compared to the K0 mount.

CT70 Scotts: Other than the differences you pointed out (throttle for example), both K1-K3 bars lack the locator pin for the switch controls; the left bar on K4 and beyond has a much larger grommet hole where the wire bundle comes out of the bar. Can't speak for the height, width, etc so maybe Kirrby or Racerx can shed a little light on this.
