Hey Gang, thought i'd stop in and see if there's any knowledge here about the Honda Gyro Scooters. (NN50) I just bought a 1984 Gyro X version at the swap meet, and am muddling my way thru bringing it back to life. So far what i know, it's a 2stroke, oil injected, 50cc scooter. 3 wheels, with an articulating middle section so you can lean like a regular motorcycle. It's electric and kick start, and appear to not ever have been imported to the US. This one has sat for my guess about 10 years. The engine was full of 2 stroke oil. (oil tank must have somehow drained into the crankcase. After about two kicks, it would hydro-lock. Took me a couple hours to get the oil from the crankcase, but i think most of it is gone. I have spark, but cant get it to fire. Plug is still oil fouling pretty quick but it wont even touch off with a shot of starting fluid directly into the combustion chamber. I did a compression test, and it's only got 60#. Seems too low to me. Hopefully someone has some experience with these or can point me into the right direction. It's a goofy lil' thang, and i'd love to see it going down the road again with my stupid grin behind the controls.
