Honda Z50 Dowel Pin Positions

Got a 1971 Z50 motor missing dowel pins. What position do they go for the cylinder and head. Also do I need two rubber gaskets for oil passage holes or just one gasket. Thanks

There are 3 different size dowel pins used, so be sure to order them by PN, using an exploded drawing. DRatv has them all, along with the diagrams. The differences are slight, but they matter.

Cylinder-to-head...one fits in the main oil passage, the other diagonally across. Cylinder-to-case, both go on the flywheel side.

I didn't think any went in the oil passage, from the zilla diagrams and looking at a cylinder here, if you were to look at it from top looking at the piston for the head to cylinder dowels it would be the lower right and upper left get dowels. The lower left is the oil passage.

For the rubbers there are two larger ones that are for the bigger oil drain hole, of those one goes between cases and cylinder, other goes between cylinder and head. One small rubber will go between the cylinder and head on the lower left stud

You may be right, I'm going from memory...probably should have confirmed this with an engine, or parts drawing. Nevertheless, it's easy enough to figure out where the cylinder-to-head dowels go, there's a step/shoulder, inside the stud bore, onto which the dowel pin seats.

Here's a shitty snapshot, that shows the stud bore detail quite well. The missing dowel goes diagonally, across the bore.
