Wanted to show members here some individual pictures of my "Covid19 lock down" projects which I started back in August with the goal of finishing up before Christmas. However with parts shipment delays etc. that was impossible. This project would be a "sympathetic restoration" on 3 Honda C100's (or if you are picky CA100's) The were all produced in different years which included a 1962, 1965 and 1966 assemblies. I purchased the '62 and '65 back in 2008 and the '66 in 2012. The '66 came in boxes with a locked up motor, also the motor on the '62 was seized. During that time period Honda's engineering was all onboard with Kaizen. (Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning "change for the better" or "continuous improvement.") This method could be easily seen during the complete dismantling of frames and engines. Only the parts that were unusable were replaced, paint was "cut and polished" but kept original including all scars without touch-up. While a sympathetic restoration is actually more work than a nut & bolt restoration it does save in paint cost. A few small bits are remaining to be received such as a neutral light assembly and ignition switch. Also adding mirrors and maybe some other changes if I deem necessary may happen later. However each bike has been already run and ridden.

Those are truly beauties! My 70 some year old neighbor got a brand new C100 when he was 16. It sat for over 50 years and I had the pleasure of getting it running again. What a joy to work on. Those little pushrod motors purr like kittens.

Awesome work! Out of curiosity how is it finding parts for them? NOS or reproduction or is Honda still making parts?

Plastics and muffler on two are repops, but things like rubber bits, pistons, rings, points etc are still obtainable with Genuine Honda parts.
